Cool Excited owners!

Hello everyone! My husband Rick and I are new Airstream owners. After searching for a while we finally found a 1969 Airstream Overlander. It's in pretty good shape (my husband says it "has good bones") and we are looking forward to getting to work on it.
Can anyone tell me a good place/website for replacement parts? I want to keep it as original as possible. It is things like rubber casters for the bed/couch, plastic light covers and knobs, etc.
Happy to be part of the group!
Regards,
Lezlie

Lezlie: We are also pretty darn excited with our new purchase. I have found that the best thing you can do is simple peruse this forum. For example at the top of this page is "Classifieds". Click there and you will see plenty of opportunities to find parts by your model. Keep searching this forum. Good luck and lets us know how you turn out! Ron

Vintage Trailer Supply as already mentioned.

There are some Airstream-specific parts that Inland RV has reproduced for sale. (they're a commercial member of the Forums and provide a lot of advice online as well.) They also stock and sell Airstream parts as well as the repros they have made.

Out of Doors Mart is a long-time Airstream dealer and they have a pretty good selection of parts online.

Remember that lots of the bits and pieces aren't Airstream-specific so they're available more generally. 12v converters, appliances, pumps, water heater, etc. are all generic items.

Is your Overlander camp-ready but needs improvement, or do you have some projects to do first? When you're ready to camp, I'd like to invite you to come to a campout with my WBCCI unit and see if you like it, we always invite people to "try before you buy". It's the Heart of Texas Camping Unit, and we camp together most every month, though it slows down a bit in this lovely summer heat we're suffering...er... having. We had a campout in the spring at Revolver Brewing just outside Granbury, and we've been to Dinosaur Valley SP in Glen Rose a few times as well. If you're interested you can PM me your email address and I'll add you to the email distro so you'll know about our upcoming campouts and rallies.

Congratulations on your "find" -- and you're going to find a lot of help on AirForums. You may have to do a bit of hunting, but there's little that you're going to do that someone else hasn't already done. Profit from their experience!

Lezlie & Rick,

Congratulations on your acquisition! Take your time, and perhaps make a list of everything you want to do, then prioritize them. Just a thought, and will give you a chance to learn the techniques for all the things you want to do.

And be sure to read, read, read on here, and ask questions on things you don't understand.

Welcome!

Another voice welcoming you to the airforums. A lot of good information available, and many willing to address your specific questions, or at least give you a link to another thread where your questions have already been asked and answered. Welcome to the "family"

Hey there!
We may have met when you were in Granbury at Revolver Brewing; do we have a mutual friend in Diane Bailey? We know her from her ex in Ruidoso, NM! Long story, but she said she prefers your group to the one I think she was previously associated with in west Texas.
Anyway, I finally convinced my spouse that an Airstream is the way to go v. another travel trailer. I think once we get into this "thing" we will join you all.
My email is lgrave79@gmail.com. We have a ways to go on our trailer; nothing major, but it needs a lot of cosmetic work.
Thanks for responding!
Regards,
Lezlie

I think Diane did introduce us, now that you mention Ruidoso. I'm a chunky guy with a longish salt-and-pepper beard and when it's sunny I'm generally in a hat.
