European vintage AS owner

After years of reading about Airstream I recently became the owner of an18’ caravel 1970. I live in Europe and hope that being a member of this forum brings me in contact with other European vintage AS owners.
The challenges for me are various. For instance technical vehicle inspection rules differ from the country of origin of the AS. Places –at campgrounds- in Europe are of smaller size. My Caravel has passed the Technical inspection (polishing to shining not allowed!) and I had a mover installed to cope with the limited parking/camping space.
At the moment I am renovating the exterior and my challenge is to fish out of the forum contributions the current “state of the art”. In addition what are the European equivalents of the nice renovation product you discuss in your forum. Who is from Europe?

Welcome to the forum Priska

There is a very active WBCCI group in Europe with over 100 members and approx 50/50 modern and vintage. There is also regular meetings if you look on the WBCCI Europe website (https://europe.wbcci.net/) but also a very active Facebook group. Here is an aerial photo of the recent rally at Ettie's Field in UK, there have also been meets across Europe this year.

Welcome to the forum!

FYI the new search function in the blue box above works very well, so I encourage you to use it for any specific issues.

Also, there is an Exterior Restoration sub-forum which may have helpful info at this stage in your project:

Good luck,

Peter

Greetings from Colorado: Welcome to Air Forums and the vintage Airstream community. I read a thread some years ago about a fellow from Poland who renovated a vintage Airstream. I enjoy reading about Airstreamers in Europe.

I have two vintage Airstreams, a 75 Overlander and a 86 Limited. Both are way too big for European use. My son has a 69 Globetrotter 21', which is better suited seems to me.

Jump right in and make yourself at home.
