Equipment donation
Good day.
My name is Dan Wilson and my father was Daniel O. Wilson who was a member of WBCCI for many years. He and my mother, Bernadine, and their cat attended several of the rallies all across the country in their 31 foot Airstream trailer.
To the best of my knowledge, they were members in the 70’s and 80’s and started off with a trailer number with 5 digits. Somehow, they acquired the number 5637 after being in the club for a while.
For several years dad was the Club Chaplain at many of the rallies. He passed away in 1999 and mom passed on in 2007.
Dad was stationed at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey for a few years and supervised the building of the Post Main Chapel that opened in 1962. Fort Monmouth is now closed and the Chapel was decommissioned. As part of the effort of closing the chapel, a kit was found that belonged to my dad that he used at the rallies to hold church services. The kit was originally used in Korea and Viet Nam by my dad to perform church services in the field.
The kit contains a wooden cross, two non-wax candles (they don’t burn), and four collection baskets. The kit is made of wood, is very sturdy and is lined with foam to protect the contents. It has a nameplate on the outside with “New Jersey Central Unit WBCCI” inscribed on it. It measures 25” by 14” by 7”. The kit weighs 15 pounds and will probably be expensive to ship.
If anyone in the club can make use of this kit, I would love to donate it to you. If you have any interest in it, please let me know and we can make arrangements to have it shipped to you. It is much too valuable to just throw away. I hope someone can find a home for it.
Thank you,
Dan Wilson
