DWH Introduction

Good evening all. I have been following for almost a year now, ever since my wife and I bought a 1961 22ft Airstream. I am still trying to figure out which model it is. I think the part that worries me most is geting the outside cleaned up. Once we got it home, it appears the entire trailer had been painted with silver paint and the top had been painted white. None of this was really evident when I originally looked at it. Frankly, I haven't even thought about the outside being painted. It is what it is and we'll make it work.

This a fantastic website and really enjoy reading about everyones experiences.

I will be documenting my progress in a blog:

1961 22ft Airstream

Feel free to follow/comment/correct, etc...

Hi DWH,

If you will go to the airstream website at www.airstream.com, then go to the service tab, then go to the specifications tab, you will see all of the archive material that airstream has been able to put together. Then look at the information in 1961 and you should see the floor plans and other information. From that, you should be able to figure out which model you have.

Enjoy your new Airstream.

Thanks for the tip. I went to the site and looked at the 22ft model layouts and none of them matched what I have. I looked at the previous and post models as well, still not matching layout. I decided to read the "Misc Article" found here: 1961 Misc Article

To my surprise the article was featuring my exact layout. They called it a "Spaceliner". Is this unusual or a unique model? I don't see it listed in any of the year listings.

Thanks,
