Talking Chic Cave is my dream!

Currently residing in the Atlanta area living life in the rat race and my Pisces/Gypsy/Earth Friendly spirit is dying a little every day it seems like. Over the next year I will be purchasing a large Airstream probably a late 1970s model. I have downsized to a one bedroom apartment and over the next 3 months will downsize to 1/2 of that amount of living space. I plan on living full time in my Airstream and park it on a piece of property. If one day I need to move my home as a single woman .....then that is an option. In the meanwhile I will make life changes that give me my life back. I've been gathering information and ideas on remodeling for about 6 months now. Very glad to find a resource of knowledge such as this site.

Well first, lets identify your Chic Cave so we can better help you.
Please find the data plate, write down the serial number, and post it on this thread. From the serial number we can tell you length, year of manufacture, etc.
Take some pictures while you are at it.
Welcome.

Welcome to the Airforums. In case you are interested, there is a very active Airstream group in Georgia. Our next get together will be 25-27 October weekend at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds. There will be a lot of different models from vintage to new in attendance.

Hey Chic, welcome to the rat race we call Atlanta. We live on the southside. Possum Holler is between Buzzard Gulch and the entrance to the Promised Land.

Yup what they said, come see about 3 dozen new, use & restored 'Streams next weekend in Hiawassee. There's a hotel outside the gates of the campground to stay in if you wish. We have a '70's model that we've put hundreds of hours and about $12k into restoring it. Can be a long, involved process.

Jim

Chic, welcome to the forums and hey neighbor!

I second (or third or fourth) the recommendation to come up to Hiawassee for Falluminum on the weekend of the 24th. Great opportunity to see what others have done, meet some great folks, break some bread at the potluck dinner on Saturday night, and hear one of the top rated bands in the country play for free. 3 out of 4 of those statements are true. Come and revive your spirit!
