Checking In

I don't have an RV yet, but I am going to an RV show this weekend. I'll be checking out the Airstreams as much as possible.

I'm not sure if I really want an RV or not. The 25' models look like the right size online, but the proof is in the pudding. I've never actually found proof inside pudding, but I did find my 1.5 year old daughter under pudding last night after we wiped off her face.

Welcome Roadrunner.
There is a ton of information here as you wander through the forums.
Good luck in your search. Keep in mind the long term advantages of an Airstream due to the materials used in construction, and their efficient shape for towing. A very high percentage of all A/S's ever made are still on the road.

Welcome to the forums!

You can learn all things Airstream at this site! Lots of threads to follow, but topics on just about everything! If looking for a Airstream, be sure you check out information about the size and "strength" of your tow vehicle... so you are sure to have what you need! Here is a link to a good thread on things to think about when looking for an Airstream ~ whether new or vintage! http://www.airforums.com/forums/f353...eam-22920.html Good luck in your search.

I didn't know if we wanted an RV, or would use it enough to make it worthwhile. That was five years ago. It's the BEST decision I ever made. I bought vintage, so I wouldn't have as much invested in case it didn't work out. It was a bit of work getting all the bugs worked out (not literally bugs, you know what I mean), but it's been a blast, and gotten a lot of use, and never missed a campout.

Plus there are Airstream rallys, both official and unofficial. Basically Airstreamers like to gather and party around the campfire all night. Shiney trailers by campfire-light. People sitting around singing and playing music. Morning rain pitter-pattering on the aluminum roof. Bacon on the grill. It's the greatest thing ever.

I think my tow vehicle can handle any TT Airstream ever made. It's a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Mega Cab Cummins Turbo Diesel.

I'm starting to think if I take the plunge, I'd go with a late model used trailer. It's great that this place has the forums broken down by model. That should make it easier to see what problems to look for (like leaking showers).

Thanks!!
