Just wanted to say hello to everybody. My wife and I are about to take delivery of a 2016 Airstream Flying Cloud 23D tomorrow.
We've been Aliner owners and while we've loved our time with our little A-frame, the constant juggling of things to make room to do or store things just got to where we started looking at other options. Ironically, every time we went to RV shows we would look at most of the campers and walk away unimpressed.
We thought we wanted a Class C when we stumbled across the Itasca Viva!, but after driving it we found it was a bit too loud and we couldn't see having to pack up the 'house' to run to the store for things once setup somewhere and we certainly didn't want to tow a vehicle, so our search continued.
Enter Airstream a few months later. The minute we walked into the 23FB, we knew knew that we had found the camper for us. We liked most things about the 23FB, but really liked the open area in the 25FB. We were torn about getting the 25FB, then the dealer took delivery of a 23D, it was exactly what we were looking for... (at least we're hoping so).
So tomorrow, we finally take delivery of the unit and then we'll take it out on the maiden voyage a short way from home the first weekend in April just to ensure we work out all the typical first type things.
Looking forward being part of the airstream community.
Edit: I should note that buying the Airstream also means my long distant tours out west on my motorcycle and camping in a tent are pretty much over. (and that's not a bad thing really).
