Can't Wait in Colorado!

Hello and thanks for including us!

We are brand new to Airstream. Sold our 6 year old trailer and upgraded the TV in anticipation of the new 2018 Classic 30 which should be arriving at our local Denver dealership any day now.

This site is just fantastic! We've already learned so much. Great resource!

Best regards,
Dennis and Kathy

Welcome to the Airstream world. Living in Arvada you are surrounded by some very knowledgeable AS folks. Just got back from our annual family get together at Estes Park. Good luck and be safe. Bubba

Hi and welcome to these Air Forums. You will find all kinds of nice folks willing to share experiences and help with questions about your new Classic. You are an experienced RV traveler, so that part of the resume is satisfied.

Colorado and the Denver area has an active Airstream club that you may be interested in. It gives a guy to meet other Airstream owners in the area and to share experiences.

Please do yourself a huge favour and start reading the Much Ado Alde thread. Yes, it is long. Read it anyway. During your final walk through turn the shower on...I mean full on like you were taking a shower. You should have enough hot water to last at least 10 minuets. Next, find and open the Alde reservoir to make sure you are at the right level (bring a flashlight), then just for the heck of it, locate 2 bleed point and Pop them open to see if any air is there. If everything checks out you are good to go, at the very least your dealer will know you did your homework and are an informed buyer. Call Jackson Center and ask what the latest update to your Firefly is, date, version, etc and write it down. Check with the dealer to make sure you do indeed have the most current version. I know, I sound like I expect problems. Some dealers are doing a fantastic job of setting the Classic up properly...some are not.
Once all that is taken care of, you are going to love, love your Classic. I would not want any other model. Maybe some day we will be at the same campground, please say hi.

Oh, I almost forgot. Your walk through should take about 4 hours. As you are going over systems, turn them on, play with them, video the whole thing. There’s a lot of important information to go over. Lastly, plan on spending the first night on the dealers lot. There will likely be something that isn’t 100%, easier to get it taken care of right then.
I really do want things to go perfectly for you but too often they do not. Please learn as much as you can now so that next month you are not one of the many that post about how disappointed you are that it isn’t perfect.

Some folks bring their PJs, toothbrush and teddy bears when picking up their new Airstream. They stay in their new trailer all night at the dealer's parking lot. In this way, you can try that shower, try the AC, try the ALDE, and take notes of any questions you may have. Both you and your dealer will be comfortable the trailer is working properly.
