Smile Bauxite Buddies Again

We started RVing in 1969 when we bought a 1963 AS International Overlander 26'. We were so inexperienced we didn't know you could'nt tow with a 1959 Plymouth with a 318 engine and 2-speed automatic transmission. After much prep to the tow vehicle, we took off to the new world of Airstreaming all over the country. We even climbed Wolf Creek Pass with that rig. From then to now includes another 12 RVs of various sizes from 18' VW Camper to a 40 foot Dutch Star Diesel Pusher. That brings us to our most recent addition to Escuderia Prosser, a 1984 AS 310 Limited Motorhome. Is this our last Rig?? Who knows, but we got this one with that idea in mind. Restoring our 310 has been a challenge, because the PO let everything go and the m/h was a child of neglect. 20 years of neglect is hard to overcome in one month, but that's about where we are at this time. We are new to this forum, but we've had some experience with RV's and we are still learning. Restoring the Silver Hornet has been a challenge to say the least. Seems that the purchase price is just the beginning of restoring a vintage AS. We've replaced a lot of appliances put down new floor and have yet to do anything on the outside for appearance asthetics to make our unit look better. So many things to do, so little time. Ha! We spend a lot of time in our m/h as we travel from Denver, CO to Cimarron, NM, to Amarillo and Lubbock, Tx. Its our home away from home, and also home to our Chocolate Lab, too. So the three of us are like the Willie Nelson song "On the Road Again". At this time we haven't rejoined the WBCCI as we are trying to see what unit will be best for the area we travel in. That will come later I'm sure. Big problem I have, I can't remember our old WBCCI number. I think it was 7406 or something like that. Looking forward to meeting new friends and forming lasting friendships with all the
Bauxite Buddies we meet.

Welcome back!

If you contact the WBCCI they will be able to look up the original owner of those numbers right up to the current ones.

I'm sure you will have lots of great times with your new rig. I have always admired the Classic aluminum Airstream motor homes.
