AS Trailer is ours!

Greetings from Central NJ,
After many months of following this AS Knowledge Forum as well as the WBC Airstream Forum, we've purchased our first Airstream - its a 30' 2005 Classic SO. We will pull with a GMC Sierra 2500HD that we have just purchased new. Breaking it in before we begin our first major trip in November. Looking forward to it.
Thanks for all the information from this Forum. Its been very informative and helpful.

HI RichHog, Thanks! Picture of AS just loaded on Forum Pic Gallery. As for our Newbie trip; its unfortunately delayed until November when we will be pulling it East from PHX to NJ with multiple stops on the way (Austin, ATL, Fl and SC) to visit friends. Hopefully she is nestled in her winter bay before the first snow hits the East Coast. Question for All: Friends here in PHX have been leery of our proposed route to Austin via Tucson to Las Cruces and El Paso, Tx. to San Antonio on Int. 10. They keep insisting that PHX - Flagstaff - Albuquerque - Amarillo - Austin is a safer trip route even though its 300 miles longer. Would appreciate inputs from anyone who has made the Southern route through NM and Texas.

The 'stream looks great as well as the TV.

The longer route would be more scenic.

My company has pulled all of our personnel who stay overnight in El Paso out to the airport from downtown near the boarder for security reasons. I provide this information so that you can make what you wish of it.

Wow the trailer is in fantastic condition! Looks new. Love the TV too. I have the same truck almost (extended cab) and pull a 30' Classic. It's a beautiful combination that just charges up mountains. Enjoy!

Friends: It's so interesting to see the various configurations of the Classics. The living area is so much different in our two campers. Here's the comparable shot of our's. Best wishes, John

Thanks for the Feedback

Thanks all for the feedback on the routing East. We will point the truck North by NorthEast and head to Flagstaff and Albuquerque. Looking forward to our inaugural trip in November.

Beeyooteeful rig, DL46! Love the h-u-g-e interior with the SO open.

May you have "fair winds and following seas" on your inaugural trip!

Stream safe and enjoy that southern route. I'm sure you made the right decision as Flagstaff and other places north of here have been getting snow. Now that's no place for a newbie. Enjoy the ride. Remember - its the journey and not the destination.
