Arizona Newbie

Hello to all out there. DW and I are new to the forum and new Airstream owners. Planning ahead for retirement in a couple of years, decided to start getting things ready. we took delivery of a 2018 28' International Signature on August 26th. we went in looking for something smaller, but DW fell in love with the 28'. Had a great opportunity to meet some of the AZ club members at their rally at Lost Dutchman State Park two weeks ago. all very nice and welcoming people. love this forum and all of the shared knowledge within.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your 28. That's a really nice model. Did you have trouble finding what you were looking for?

And getting started before retiring make a lot of sense. We wish we would have gotten our AS sooner!

Are you planning on joining WBCCI?

Welcome from Colorado. Your DW was wise to take the 28 footer. It is a very comfortable long distance traveler, yet fairly easy to back into campsites (with some experience of course).

These forums have been invaluable to me in answering questions about all sorts of topics. I like vintage Airstreams and working on them. We have a 1986 Limited at 34' long. My DW loves the thing. We enjoy long trips in the spring and fall seasons in our retirement. We've pulled it to both coasts, the gulf, and Canada. Let's see, where shall we go this coming spring? Sometimes we just head a particular direction and see what we shall see. No trip plan at all. Fun.

By the way, your Airstream will last more than 50 years with routine maintenance. Keep that in mind.

David

Welcome

Welcome to the forums from a fellow Mesa couple. Albeit we are only here for 5 1/2 months. You will love the 28' foot. We had the same trailer before we got the bug and went up 2' to 30'.

Smart move getting it before retirement. We got our 1st Airstream about 10 years before retirement. Some years we hardly used it at all, but now it is our home for about 8 months a year.

Welcome! Bought mine a year and a half ago, and I’m retiring in just over a year. So glad I did. Can just hit the road running when the time comes!

Thank you to all for the warm welcome. We have had our Airstream two months and have used it five days so far. Another five day trip in a couple of weeks. Thoroughly enjoyed the time in it. Handling and backing the 28 footer isn't an issue for me. I just passed my 40 year anniversary in the trucking industry. Most of that in seven western states, got to see a lot of things, but DW wasn't alongside to share them. Now it is time to show her the sights.
