Thumbs up Argy 78

Just wanted to say Hi to all of you. We just acquired our fist travel trailer a 1978 27' Argosy. I had been looking for a good pre-owned A/S or Argosy for the past 4 years and as most of you know by the time you locate one and go to look at it, if it was in somewhat good condition it was gone. When I say this one I couldn't pass it up. We have it on our property in Northern Michighan but as things will be we now plan on traveling and Boondocking as much as we can.
Looking forward to the forum.
J.C.

Welcome. I will refrain from asking you to post a picture of your Argosy so that someone else can.

I got mine a couple of years ago and have found a wealth of info here as well as some stimulating conversation.

I'm sure you will enjoy it. The Argosy and the Forum.

Welcome fellow 78 Argosy owner. These are great trailers. We have enjoyed working on and traveling in ours for about three years. Not to be out done by some here on the Forum, we purchased one of those silver things in a 31ft model. Still think the Argosy is cuter; however, the extra room will be welcome.

Thank's to all of you. I am excited to do some renovations, upgrades and start traveling.
We own property in Northern Michigan without power or water and we plan on doing a lot of Boondocking. I have a few questions, 1. I would it like to replace the old front and rear vents with Fantastic fans and replace the center vent with a skylight. 2. Would it best to replace all vents with newer vents or add power vents and which one/s would be most benificul for circulation? 3. Would I need to have Maxx Vent type covers over these vents to protect it from rain? 4. Will the new front wraparound window cover fit on my 78 Argosy and last, for now, where can I get a 14x14 skylight with a shade?

Imitation being the most sincere form of flatery...

Welcome to the cult! We didn't know anything about trailer camping and by divine intervention, got our Argosy. If we had it to do all over again and cost was no object - we would do the same thing.

Good Luck and man the forest be with you!
