Another new member

Hi,
Just wanted to introduce myself to the group. I'm George and my wife is Maureen. We live outside of Philadelphia (PA). We are in the process of buying a 62 Bambi. Will post some photos when we get her home. Although I am using "we" in this post, Maureen will tell you that she is not as excited about this venture as I. I'm hoping she will change her mind when we get more involved in the "fixing up and enjoying" phase of this projct. I have been reading alot of the posts recently and hope we run into you all at a rally sometime. Sounds like a fun group. By the way, what are the "rivet" designations under the names? Some are "newbie" and then anywhere from 1 to 5 rivets and rivet master??? Thanks.
George

Hi George! Welcome to the forum. You'll find a lot of very smart and talented folks here that can help you with your Bambi re-do. Many topics covered. Check out the 'search' function on the left margin. We LOVE pictures...so send'em in. Maureen will eventually get 'aluminitis', hopefully.
Rivets are signs of the number of posts one has done on the forum.
Again, welcome, and don't be bashful about questions.
Rgds,
Scott

Hi George, Welcome!
Glad you found us and signed up. There is a wealth of info here.
We'll all look forward to photos, I always like to see the vintage units.
I may get the numbers wrong, but you get your first rivet after about 5 posts, then another after 50, then 100, 250 and when you reach 500 posts they call you a Rivet Master. I can tell you from personal experience that "arriving" at rivet master doesn't make you master of anything.
Anyway, I wanted to welcome you, glad you're here.
Dave

hi george, welcome! what a treasure you have found. why don't you have maureen stop by this site and see some of the pics and read about how much all of us here love our airstreams and quite possibly she will catch "aluminum fever." we just purchased a 1979 airstream excella motorhome, in fact, we just got her home at about 1 am this morning and i have the fever real bad! i did tell my husband that i would love to find an old bambi, but they are very hard to come by, so the excitement of others here should be enough to get you both excited. good luck and keep us posted. of course, as others say, we love pictures!

Smile another new member - Thanks!

Hi and thanks for the warm welcome. We will get some photos up on the site sometime in April when we get the bambi home. I will be posting a lot of questions at that time once I start cleaning her up and seeing what I am dealing with.
Thanks again!
George
