It's a little late...

Or early (in the morning...)
I arrived in Seattle WA Thursday and drove to Marina CA Friday.
It's 05:00 AM now, couldn't sleep..., because at 08:00 AM I am going to pick up my trailer at Castroville, CA.
10 minutes from here.
Will let you know later, first have to tow her to Seattle before snow falls!
I'm going North over the I-5. So, wave if you see me go by!
If there's anything I should see or some place I should go, please let me know!

Jeff:
Thanks for including the pictures of Jim with his new trailer. It was the perfect end to a good story. Ron

Well, not yet. As far as the perfect end is concerned.
After all the effort, it appeared to be too wide to fit the designated Ocean Container.

I was reassured it would be 85” wide. But it’s 8’ wide. Not just a little bit wider, but a mere 11” more.
Took me a few months to get over this great disappointment. That’s why you didn’t hear from me.

Hi Jim, is the trailer still in Washington?
Do I dare ask you who gave you a width measurement of only 85" inches?
Keep us posted,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Somehow, I wasn't aware of the message you've left me.
Yes, the trailer is still in Washington state. I've just had it removed from the harbor storage and it's back at my good friend's property in Puyallup WA.
It was the seller that confirmed me the measurements, in writing, before the transaction. I needed to know, for transportation, as you all now know too...
Right now I'm still to depressed about it to take any action. I considered hauling it to any other harbor, to have it shipped RO/RO. If it's to be the SF area, I'll certainkly come by to visit you!
I'll let you know when the time comes!
Jim.

Finally home !!!

Well, it took me a while to find proper transportation to The Netherlands, but I finally did.

Shipping from the West Coast is very expensive, would have cost more then the trailer itself. East Coast is affordable, but of course I had to get my trailer there too. Getting it there would have been very expensive too, so, I decided to have another vacation and towed it from Seattle to Galveston myself.

Took some D-tours along the way to visit friends and relatives, and visited some National Parks on the way. Amoung which was Yellowstone and Monument Valley. Most impressive was sleeping in my trailer under the Mexican Hat rock and driving through Monument Valley at sunrise.

My trailer was shipped to Zeebrugge, Belgium, were I picked it up myself and towed it home to The Netherlands.

Now I will be doing some work on it, to have it ready for next season. So, you will be hearing more about me soon!

Hi Jim, I missed this thread last year, but welcome to the forums, my ancestry is Dutch and German. Nice looking Dodge, I have done autobody repair for 32 years and have restored a few cars. If you ever get to the states in November they have a great car show in Daytona Beach Thanksgiving weekend that is call the Turkey run, it will take you a couple days to go through the whole thing. Enjoy your Airstream.

As a matter of facts: I will be doing another road trip by the end of October.
Me and my daughter will be travelling from Los Angeles to Seattle by car and if anybody know of anything interesting along the way, like classic car or trailer shows: please PM me!
