Hi everybody! We're new to the Airstream world as we've had our '06 28' Safari for a few months. We live in Southwest Louisiana in a little town called Welsh, a few miles east of Lake Charles. We love our "second home" and refer to the trailer as "Eh Boux" (ay-boo) since that's what everybody says to each other around here. We christened Eh Boux with a bowl of seafood gumbo poured over the hitch and some gris-gris (gree-gree) sprinkled on the steps to keep the FEMA folks away. We look forward to future discussions on the forum. 'Till then laissez le bon ton roulez (let the good times roll)...
Hey welcome! I love that Cajun saying "you know you still alive if its costin' you money!! Saw Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys down at the Jazz Fest a while back! Not to mention Beausoleil! Can't figure out what's better Cajun cookin, Cajun hospitality, or Cajun music...hmmm

Beausoleil means "pretty sun" in French. I have two close freinds who play in the band. They're celebrating 30 years together! Poo-yie, that's a lot of chanky-chank! And beaucoup two-steppin' too!
Aaaaiiii--eeeee!!! Hey, cher, I passed some good times in Lake Chuck! I learned how to drive a stick on the (then) defunct Chenault Air Force Base. I have been to and through Welsh several times when I lived in Lake Charles in the mid-80's. You bringin' back me some memories, yeah!
Welcome to the list and enjoy the heck out of Eh Boux! But you must not be *real* Cajuns, or you would'a ate you dat gumbo 'stead of pourin' it on a trailer!
Susan

Hi buzzkat, welcome I am sure you will enjoy your Airstream. BTW I graduated from Welsh High School in 68, go Greyhounds. I now live in New Orleans and make it back to Welsh every now and then. I even gave moving back to Welsh some thought after Katrina but the family keeps me here in New Orleans. If you make it in this direction let me know.
