And Yet Another New Person

Well...technically I'm not a new person...just new here

I have an interest in building and restoring old travel trailers. I have restored, sorta, a 1968 Aristocrat and I am presently building a Teardrop.

I also have a 1974?, Road Ranger that I am piddling with. Looking to pick up an Airstream in the near future. Airstreams have always stood out to me and I think it's time to own one.

Spousal unit and I live in SoCal,#$%^&, both retired from the US Army and slowly getting our children grown and out the door. We both love the outdoors and traveling.

Looking forward to meeting the many folks here.

Regards,
Dave

Hi Dave, we're glad to have you here! Sounds like you've got plenty of experience with vintage trailers. Keep an eye on the classifieds here - good stuff comes up all the time. Good luck in your search.

Welcome, you have found a great helpful group with wealth of knowledge. Good luck with the search, I spent too many years looking for the right A/S, but am enjoying the one just found.

Thank you both for your service to our great country.

First post karma on the way.

Hi Dave, Welcome to the forums. There is a lot of info here that will help steer you in the right direction as you look to purchase an A/S. Along with the usual safety items, you will want to make the floor is in good shape with minimal to no rot. Or plan on a major project with associated costs.
Do a search for terms such as floor rot, tail sag, tail droop, shell off, etc.
This info saved me a ton of money when I was looking for my last trailer. Good luck in your search,
Dave
