an intro and a thank you

Hi Folks-
Iíve been lurking around on the sidelines for a couple of months now, reading like crazy and soaking up all the information, good humor and advice. Iíve found answers to so many questions- thank you all very much! Itís time I stepped up to the plate and took part a bit.
I have a í76 31í Sovereign- center bath- that I bought last spring. I was- still am- a total greenhorn. When buying, I failed to ask the right questions and got- on the questions I did ask- less than honest info. Needless to say, Iíve uncovered a number of issues that I am dealing with now.
Thank God! for this site!
Itís been a rather slow moving project- I have a ton of skills after 30 years in the construction trades, but Iím dealing with an injury that limits the use of my hands. Iíve always worked fast, pushed hardÖ hmmmÖ I think thereís a message in here somewhere for me.
I currently have the floor removed from the back bedroom so that I can replace a few outriggers and have some welding done on the frame. Once that area is finished and livable again (Iím fulltiming, now) I plan to open the belly pan up front and inspect the frame there. The first sheet of plywood, I know, will have to be replaced.
Oh, what fun! I keep telling myself ÖalthoughÖ actuallyÖ Iíd rather be tooling along on RT 10, heading toward Austin!
So thanks again! and here's to the miles and smiles ahead!

Welcome from a neighbor to the south of you! Just wait - you'll get your current project finished and then start looking for another Airstream to work on. Best of luck to you.

what a warm welcome!

Thank you all for such a warm and encouraging welcome! Yes, I do have some work step at a time, as they say.
(hopefully not through the floor).

Believe me, lot's of us have been in your shoes (and still are). There are always "surprises" in store for you after the initial euphoria of buying your Airstream and getting it home. Be patient and enjoy the journey while you make your coach the best you can.

Please post pics of your Airstream....we love em!!
