An Airstreamer again!!!

I'm so excited to become an Airstreamer again!

Today I bought a 1962 Safari and am writing this post from inside the trailer in my driveway in Salt Lake City. I was a full-timer from 2007-2009 and met some amazing people while driving around the country with my pup selling meteorites. Yes, it was indeed a strange turn in my career, but hey, we never know where life will lead us and Airstreamers embrace that more than anyone.

I am back in a more traditional job but have missed having an Airstream--and I especially love vintage trailers.

and my new tow vehicle . . .

A 2013 Tundra. Certified pre-owned.

Turning in my VW TDI (diesel) in about two weeks.

Hello Tundra!

I can't believe I have an Airstream again and I can't believe I have a Tundra. So excited. VW's cheating diesels essentially made all of this possible for me.

Smile Wow!

I just found this . . . on another part of this site? (It looks like it.)

http://vintageairstream.com/photo-ar...2-safari-22-2/

This trailer I bought looks to be authentically original. It appears someone painted the interior (but not the wood luckily). I am dubious about the paint--looks like latex--but also looks good right now. I can't get over how impeccable it is.

I know I have work ahead, but this is one cool Airstream!!

That is a great looking AS! Looks like you made two smart purchases. You will love your Tundra. Great daily driver and will pull your AS with no problem.

Guten Tag!

That's a handsome trailer ... and selling meteorites must make your resume a well-read document.

Often times I can't believe I was a meteorite dealer, but it was fun and I met cool people. Airstreaming tops it though! I'm the marketing director at the Natural History Museum of Utah now.

rehab note

The first round of rehab is underway.

New axle is on. 12 volt system is getting revitalized, and many other minor repairs.

Including the visor. The first photo here shows how it was failing to block moisture from the doorframe. Coming soon, a photo of the rehabbed and reinstalled visor.

Work done by Camper Reparadise in Salt Lake City.
