Thumbs up Almost is now a 23 ft Safari SE owner

Well, sharing ownership with the Credit union. I want to say thanks to all those who wrote in and provided advice. I did not take it all, but much of it was very useful. We will be picking up the 2007 23 ft. Front Lounge Safari SE in a couple of weeks. It was used (traded in on a 25 footer), but traveling to six different dealers allowed us to see the options, compare prices and I think we found something that fits us well. I love the back kitchen of the 20 ft. front bedroom, but the advice for a few more feet made a lot of sense. We will be heading out for a month of camping in the SW US the end of this month. Again, thanks for all your advice, and I welcome more as we move along. Spouse would like to know about micro fiber towels and those sorts of issues. I would appreciate any warnings and watch out's you may have. How long can we expect to wait for WBBCI membership to go thru? Is good sam worth joining? Are the RV guide(s) worth while? Tools-other things to bring along that we just would not think of?
Thanks, Take care.

Congratulations! That's a nice floorplan.

Advice.
I'd suggest getting the book "The Next Exit" which tells you what services are available at each Interstate Highway exit.

Be careful where you fuel up when towing. Make sure you can get around the obstacles when leaving.

As far as tools, how much room do you have for them? Fortunately today, you can pick up almost anything you need while on the road. The only drawback is you may end up with multiples if you have tools at home.

Have fun!

Hey Congratulations! You will be so pleased with your new toy. You made a good choice. "SilverGate" has the exact same year and model...and is a good source of info...check out their thread: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f396...ast-29471.html Lots of good info there. We love our 19' Safari SE... Are you planning to hit AZ? We can give you the lowdown on the AZ state parks and some other places here-bouts...check out our travel log (link below) and help yourself, or email/PM for info...

Slpiotro,
Congratulations on your new coach. It sounds like you got a nice trailer, how about some pictures?. I wouldn't worry too much about the WBCCI membership and numbers, they'll get to you fairly quickly. But once you get the information remember that there are forum members and WBCCI members that offer "courtesy parking". If a forum member offers courtesy parking it will be listed in their public profile. If a WBCCI member offers courtesy parking it will be listed in the membership directory you will receive. As for camping books, we use Woodalls. Don't forget to check out any Airstream only parks in your travels. They have all the ammenities of a commercial campground at a fraction of the cost and the people are always great.
As a new owner I would find a set up and tear down checklist and modify it to your personal needs. Setting up and tearing down a trailer is just like pre-flighting an airplane, miss one thing on the list and it could spell disaster. So use the list, even after you know it by rote.

Have a great time on your trip and all your travels.

Congratulations! It gets a bit confusing when comparing all the models, but you know when you've found the right one for you. Enjoy!
