Almost an Airstream Owner

Hi,

My wife Pat & I are about to sign the papers on a new 25' International Serenity. We are so excited to get on the road but of course, there are many questions. Hope to find some of the answers here, and later on when I may have at least a clue as to what is going on, to offer help to others.

We are both about 2 years from retirement. We have our own business - I do computer support for small businesses, and Pat is an Executive Coach "par excellence". We have one son, three grandsons (20, 26, and 29), and one Great-Granddaughter, 11.5 months. We live in a suburb of Portland, Oregon and enjoy the abundance of Oregon's spectacular scenery and great camping locations. The gorge is our fav right now, but once we are "Streamers", we will no doubt branch out.

Looking forward to chatting but I have to confess, working nearly full time, family activities, leave little time for online social time, but I will do my best

The (not so) Small Small Trailer | Weekend adventures in our 16 ft. Airstream Bambi and 25fb International

They are in the Portland area. Their blog will give you some ideas for trips in your neck of the woods.

Welcome gb and Pat.
I am writing this from my camp site at Ft Stevens. Brought two of the grand kids down for a birthday camp-out. This is actually the shake down cruise for our Winter travels to the Southwest.
We retired a year and a half ago, bought our 2014 27fb International CCD at the Portland RV show in September, then took off for eight months the first of October. It was fantastic! Better than I had hoped. We should have done this a long time ago.
We are home this Summer, getting the house in Beaverton ready to sell, and then heading out on the road. Everything people in the forums say is true! It's a great way to live.
We may find some place to land, but won't know where that is until we stumble across it. In the mean time, Summers back in the PNW to see offspring, then back chasing those 75 degree days when the rains return to Oregon. It is a spectacularly beautiful state, but I'm done with the rain.
I hope you find your travels to be as magic as we have.
Rick

Welcome

You have made a great decision. Not only is the Airstream a wonderful experience, but you will find the "family" of owners some of the nicest folks you will meet.

I suggest joining the WBCCI, maybe even getting all the way to the International in 2016. But at the least get to some of the rallies, a great time for all.

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us. Congratulations on your new baby. May you have many great Airstream Adventures together.

We have been avid Airstreamers since our retirement ten years ago. It has been the best time of our lives.
