All Things Travelux
Hello,
My Father was Gilbert (Gib) Waite a Travleux dealer in Belleville, Ontario from 1972 through 1978. Dad has been mentioned on this forum in the past. I spent a lot of time as a kid not just camping in Travelux's but showing them at shows.
When the Travelux factory closed Dad did buy up much of the contents of the factory. Unfortunately Dad passed away 5 years ago. The parts that he had on hand are gone (much to the dismay of my husband and I as we just bought an old Travleux to restore) but I have a lot of documentation from dealers books, decals, stickers, owners manuals, pamphlets and much more. I've even got pictures taken at the factory of Travelux's under construction.
I can now really appreciate my Dad's love of these trailers and their superb craftsmanship. My goal is to take pictures, scan this information and make it available to everyone as well as include information about the company. My Mom is a wealth of information about the company as she was right there alongside Dad. If anyone has any questions about the trailers I would be happy to ask her. Somewhere out there is a 21 ft Travelux that she designed and the factory built. She would love to know of it's existence today.
I'm looking forward to sharing my Dad's collection and my Mom's information!
