Cool all alone in kansas city

Hi everyone-are there any other airstreamers in Kansas City area except us? It would be so nice to know we are not alone out here in the middle of the U. S...

Hi! Welcome! I'm an hour south. There are several forum members in the area: Olathe, Overland Park, Peculiar, Leavenworth, KCMO, Leavenworth. There is also a very active WBCCI in the area. No, you're not alone.

One more question to all you experts out there-oops-two! What is the favorite digital antennea out there? Also-we have a hydraulic jack-my husband is curious if anyone has replaced it with a hand crank?

You may want to do searches for your antenna and jack questions. Lots of info and opinions. I'm trying to get a contact number for WBCCI for you.

By the way one more post and you'll have yourself a "one rivet" rating versus "new member".

Jack is probably electric rather than hydraulic.. Most versions (two major manufacturers) have screw and worm drive to raise and lower jack.. With a 32' trailer, unless you have battery and electrical issues power is better than a lot of difficult cranking.. The electric units do have an "emergency crank" in case of power shortage...

Batwing antenna seems to be current popular standard.. Older metal collapsing antennas work well with our digital TV, however...

epascoe,

Greetings from Peculiar, and welcome to the Forum! There are a number of fellow 'streamers in the KC area. We currently are on the fence about joining WBCCI, but here is a link:
http://www.wbcci.org/home/regions-an...s-citymissouri

By the way, there is a Rally (Air Midwest Rally) in Eureka Springs next weekend and I am sure there are available sites. We would love to meet you!

I hope our paths cross soon.

Drew

Shoot-not ready to go yet for the rally-but so nice to know other Airstreamers in our neck of the woods! Thanks for the info-I meant electric jack-I will have to look up in the manual about the hand crank for emergencies! We had some great times at Hillsdale lake last summer in the farthest campground Quail Run-it is on the lake, and soooo nice! We also enjoyed a stay at Clinton Lake in Lawrence-nice, but not on the lake. We are over the moon about Lakeside Resort at lake of the ozarks in Sunrise Beach-ON the lake, and $50 a night-but access to all the amenities!(pools, boat and jetski rental, ect) Our favorite trip was to my homeland-Minnesota. We drove all the way up north to Two Harbors(just past Duluth)on Lake Superior at the Burlington Bay campground. Some of the most amazing views ever-and so much to do! However, we learned to go before mid-October because they turn the electricity and water off then due to early cold temps! We, of course, were thrilled to eacape the never ending 100 degree plus summer here in K.C. Just thought I would share as we are all probably making our summer travel plans, and this would be a great summer heat get away! Anyone waning more info-let me know!
