Airstream in the Adirondacks

Hello all,
New to the forum, well.....joined last August and have been reading about stripping & polishing ever since. We purchased a 1990 Excella 1000 @ 32' in 2005 in the hopes of full timing for awhile. The time is now here as I retired 12/31/11. If I can absorb 0.01 of the knowledge read to date I'll be a lucky fellow. My wife, Ruth, son Kyle and dogs Pongo & Gizmo took it on a 3 week shake down cruise during March. Latch to Dometic Refrigerator (RM3804) door failed also on the rear Fantastic Vent Model 6000A the "spline" that attaches the dome drive motor to the dome hinge drive is stripped. I tried to attach two photos of our airstream, one the week we packed up and the other at our destination. Any guesses on which is which? The AS was well taken care of by the PO and other than peeling clear coat the exterior is in average shape (dent wise)and the interior is nice and clean with all systems functioning, no leaks that I have discovered and no tail sag as this is a rear bath.

Thumbs up Welcome Aboard....

Bill,

Your just a hoot'n holler from Piseco Lake where we'll be camping this Summer.

DW's family from the Poland area. Adirondack SP is one of our favorite areas, as you can tell from our trailer name...tahawus.

Did you attach your photo's from the manage attachment link below?

Piseco Lake

Bob,

Know the Piseco Lake area well. T- Lake falls from Piseco Lake side to West Canada Creek (Mountain Home Road) was my hunting grounds. Also camped at West Canada Creek Campground in Poland. I followed the photo posting instruction on the member intro. I'll have to go back and verify. I don't think I could do it again without instruction. When I opened the pictures on my post they were blurry but the originals were not. I'm using an IPAD and had to post using the online version and not the app. I am new at this IPAD stuffs and am slowly learning as I go.

Thumbs up

Bill,

Never camped there but the West Canada Creek Campground was our dump station of choice after coming down from Piseco. Very nice little CG, 'bout 5mi from MIL's house in Cold Brook. Probably will be taking the AS up for a few visits before we go up North to camp.

Maybe we'll cross paths...never know.

Attached are pictures of our 1990 Excella 1000. We were looking at upgrading to a 2008 Classic 30FB King. Decided to stick with the Excella and upgrade the interior.

Thumbs up Adirondacks Rock..

Bill,

Great looking Stream!!!

We were in Poland over Memorial Day weekend.

Found a couple camping in a nice little 66 Safari at the Haver Campground right in the center of town, the West Canada runs right thru it.
Kool story...the CG is on private land, in 40yrs we never saw it. It's open free to all local residents.
Something you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere but small town, "Ain't That America!!!"
