Airstream greater Tucson area

I'm fairly new to the Forum and really greatful for this terrific resource!! I live in NW Tucson, Marana/Oro Valley area. My wife Cathy and I just purchased a 23FB 2016 Serenity. I will be pulling with an SUV, Audi Q7. I'm picking up the AS out of town the end of June. I would love to talk with and possible see AS in my area so that I will be better prepared about hitching up, backing up and other concerns. If anyone in my area is interested in helping a to keep the roads safe I could use some help. Pulled a large 5th wheel but never Travel Trailer. Will probably go with the Equalizer WD and sway control. Thanks in advance.

Bruce and Cathy

Bumping this thread, sorry no one responded to you yet.

The 4CU (Four Corners Unit) is quite active in Az and I'm sure several members live in Tucson but a few are vacationing right now. Can't help on your towing method but maybe someone else will see this and reply back.

Welcome aboard. Glad to have you join this crowd of Airstreamers.

I am towing our 2015 23D International Serenity with my 2007 Mercedes ML320 CDI 3.0L diesel. Our trailer weighs 6,068 pounds ready for camping. We use a Hensley Arrow hitch.

There have been several Audi discussions about towing in this forum.

Give Andy Thompson a call at CanAm in London Ontario. (phone (519) 652-3284)

He modified the ML320 hitch and Hensley stinger and we towed a new empty 25FB International Serenity home from the dealer.

Can-Am helped us set up our towing rig a few years ago, advised our Equal-I-Zer hitch because of the stiffness of the w.d. bars. They like the economical Eaze-Lift design with round tapered bars, and add sway control with separate friction sway control bars.

As suggested above, contact them, they specialize in setting up towing combos like yours.

We experimented and settled on a ProPride/Hensley hitch design.

Did you start with the Equalizer and then moved more recently to ProPride/Hensley?
