PS I've posted photos on the gallery

search "1960 tradewind" Anybody interested in how it looked before then look at the vintage airstreams website - photo archives. It is listed under 1960 Tradewind, file name 60TradewindI240298T. However, I have no idea when those photos were taken!

I'm so glad everything worked out for you. I know there are always a hundred reasons not to do something and always one reason to do it...because it feels right inside. When we purchased our AS new a little over a month ago we had contacted three different dealers and the fourth just felt right and everything just fell into place as if automatically from the time we decided to buy from this dealer. You do know when it is right.

Congradulations and best wishes on your future Airstreaming.

Hi Chris & Amanda ~

Those photos were taken in Texas somewhere around the timeframe of late 2003 from a prior owner who was living in central Texas who then sold it to the guy who shipped it overseas. As the keeper of the TradeWind Registry, I have been keeping a close eye on it. Glad its found a loving and caring home.

Hi, just found this old thread on the forum and noticed that you are in the UK. We have a 1959TRADEWIND and live in Shropshire. We bought her 2 years ago and just fell in love. We have three boys and we find everything just works. You know what I mean? Where have you been in yours. We have never seen another one apart from when we took her to Perrys place in Mirepoix France. Have you been ther yet? We had the holiday of a lifetime there last July. Would love to stay in contact with you, kindest regard, TRADEWIND KID

The Airstream is still loved and used

Hi All

We are now divorced - Chris got the Airstream in the settlement which was gutting for me, but I didn't have enough money to buy a house without relinquishing my half of the Airstream.

It was/is absolutely brilliant and sleeps the 3 kids very comfortably. I would still use it if it was mine! The only downside is that when we were together, my ex got to love being at the campsite in the Airstream so much that he never wanted any of us to spend any weekends at home.....and if we did he was restless and peed off with me for wanting to be at home.... so in a way it dichotomised us........

No matter how gorgeous the Airstream is/was, it was a reminder that people and relationships matter more than things and that home should be somewhere that you don't feel the need to continually escape from.

I am now married to an American and maybe one day, when the kids are grown up, we'll move back to the states and get ourselves a beauty.

Amanda
