A Newbie's Grand Airstream Plan

Hello all. I have enjoyed reading everything on this forum and have always wanted an Airstream. That's why I have come to the "High Council" for advice.
I live in Cincinnati and work out of the Detroit airport area (I know). Instead of continuing to live out of hotels, I was thinking of buying a vintage airstream and parking it at a campground or RV park. Weather wise, this would be possible for about seven months realistically.
The trailers I have been looking at have typically been 23 foot safari's, as I would be towing this thing periodically with a SUV with a V-8.
My wife comes from a RV family but, so far has NOT contracted alumnitus. ( I am still working on that one).
Am I on the right track size-wise? Does this seem like a reasonable plan? Any feedback will be appreciated because I am quite sure there are angles I haven't even considered. I await the High Council's reply.
Thank you all in advance

You should determine the tow capacity specifications for your tow vehicle and compare that to the weights (full, not dry) of Airstream models you are interested in. A good rule of thumb to start out is to stay within 80% of the tow vehicle's tow capacity. For instance, we tow a 19' Bambi weighing roughly 4500 lbs full with a V6 Tacoma with a tow capacity of 6500 lbs and a factory tow package, and we get along fine.

Others will chime in with their takes on tow vehicles and trailer weights, so you will have some numbers and opinions to wade through and evaluate...

The important thing is to tow safe and feel personally comfortable with your towing set-up.
