A needle in a haystack

Hi everyone,my name is William C. Papke.

I remember all the fun we had as a family with are airstream.
The trip that sticks out in my mind was the great Alaska trip of 1968-1969.
My father and mother and 7 siblings traveled the Alcan highway to Alaska.
Mom and Dad and one of my sisters have passed away.
The number on are trailor was 19632,part of the caravan that year.
I believe it was a 17-18 1964 Globetrottor.
We left Rockford Il. in June of that year and watched a baseball game at Eleven o'clock on the 4th of july in Alaska.
We pulled the airstream with a Pontiac station wagon,I think it was a 1967.
Just wondering if anyone knows how to track down a old airstream, full of fond memories,of great parents and great family adventure.

Hi - sounds like great memories and I'm sorry to hear of your losses...

Might not be such a needle/haystack thing. There's a thread in the forum titled, "Research by WBCCI number?". Post your trailer number there and you may find a whole lot of history about it. It may not provide all the info you're looking for but it might be somewhat helpful.

Good luck!

The Papkes' joined in 1966 and lived in Rockford. They could have been a Midwest Unit member or belonged to the Northern Illinois Unit. In the early years the directories do not indicate unit affiliation. Their number actually was 19362. The 1969 Directory, for some reason, does not show giving them credit for being on any National Caravans. They remained members through 1972, but do not appear in the 1976 directory.

WBCCI frequently reassigns numbers and does not keep track of who might be the new owners of a particular trailer. New owners frequently do not keep the same number. In 1976 19632 was unassigned, which most likely means no one else took up the number immediately.
