A Member Again, after a long hiatus

We are back after going the Mobile Suite fifth wheel route, then a Newmar Motor Home, and now we just bought a 2017 27 ft. Tommy Bahama. I am so glad to have another Airstream. Sleeping much better now that the fifth wheel and motorhome are gone. Too big and too many things to go wrong. It is nice to have something that actually has tires I can change if we have a flat, plus not nearly as many things to go wrong and spoil a trip. We really appreciate this forum. Really excited to start camping again and actually not dread driving as we did with the motorhome and fifth wheel.

Hi

Welcome !!!

Been down the route of a "big" MH and know exactly what you mean about the list of "things to fix" growing longer as they get older. Airstreams are not perfect (no RV is). They just aren't quite in the same league fixit wise. Running one up and down the mountains, don't miss that either. A big AS is not trivial in that respect, but again, not in the same league.

So, get it hooked up to the TV and get out camping !!! Time's a wasting !! I'd go on a couple of short trips to shake down the process, but I'd still get out and enjoy it.

Welcome back. We went the same route, except no 5th wheel, but actually have been discussing a New Horizon as we have changed our travel from one or two nights to weeks or months in one place. We too had a Newmar big boy, but actually never had an issue.

Enjoy the journey

Bud

Welcome back!

FYI there is a new sub-forum which includes various Tommy Bahama threads:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f541/

Also, there is a new powered-by-Google AF search function just above, with the blue border, which works much better than the old search function.

"Tommy Bahama" search results:

Happy Trails,

Peter
