'84 310 Airstream Motorhome

I made the leap after two years of dreaming about a trailer. I bought a 310 (31') motorhome with 32,000 miles instead, loving every mile. Glad to be a new member of the "family" and looking forward to visiting with all.

Yay! Welcome to the family! We, too have an '84 310 motorhome and LOVE it! Was this the one in Marble Falls, or did you find it elsewhere?

The motorhome was in Gulfport, Texas (just outside of Huston) I would attach some photos but can not figure out how. I rented a car and drove the 400 miles to purchase it. This was only after spending time on the phone with the former owner "wheeling and dealing". After a careful inspection and some more "W&D" I bought it and drove it home. That was in April and I have replaced the fresh water pump, the air bags in the front springs, the air compressor for the rear, replaced the carpet with berber, all three batteries and both belts on the motor. It would seem that the more I do, the more that I want too. The main problem I see now is finding all the little thing that I want to fix, like the drain hole covers on the bottom of the windows, and the trim for the outside, I also need a wheelcover for the rear wheel, have the other three. Any help along these line will be much appreciated.

We found (I'm married to Alumatube) that the more we fix the more we need to fix. But ours has 100,000 miles on it compared to your 32,000 so hopefully you won't need to do as much to yours.

Ha! You have fallen into the vintage/classic AS trap! It never seems to end, but it is all a part of making it yours. We have to recon all of our windows, since the seals are shot, and are not looking forward to that job. But it is a LOT of fun, and such a cool motor home! I know you will enjoy the heck out of yours!

We have aluminum wheels, so really don't know where to find a wheel cover, except post an ad in the forums classified section and maybe someone out there will have one.

Hopefully we can meet at a rally sometime. We'd love to see your chrome home and its progress! Good luck with it!
