68 Overlander

We have just purchased a 68 26' Overlander that appears to me to be 70% in orginal condition and plan to refit it back to original as much as possible

Our hopes are to NOT have to gut it at this time, just make it safe, roadworthy, and functionable.

We are excited about the project and look forward to meeting some of you and learning from you experiences.

Welcome to the forums!
It's great to see another vintage trailer being restored to original. How about a few pictures?

Thanks. We have never posted to a forum so trying to get all of this figured out. How do I get a manual? We only have the ad pic at this time. We will post pictures once we get er home and of course will document the project.

Greeting, 68's rock!!

Get her home and find and fix all the leaks,, first order of business. There will be leaks but maybe only a few. Check floor inside the closets where the vent stacks come thru the roof, windows, main door and rear hatch. All notorious for leaks.
She looks good from the pic you posted. We kept ours as original as possible. PM me if you have any specific 68 questions, I"ll be glad to try and help.

Welcome to the forums and Overlander ownership. After you check for and fix any leaks you find you will need to look at the axles. If they have never been replaced chances are they well need replacing.
