$500 Overlander in Va

Hey guys,

Just purchased a 27' 1970 overlander from a coworker for $500. It needs some work but overall looked to be in decent shape. I didn't think I could lose money for the price. Anyway, I'll be on here trying to learn as much as possible and am excited to tear down and hopefully rebuild my future forever airstream.

Thanks,
Stefan

I picked my 64 ambassador up for $500 as well. However is was in very poor shape. I'm in the process of restoring it. Hope yours is in better condition than mine. Cheers and good luck

The back end looks like what my 69 used to. Nice!

Elbow grease and some fix ups in places, and you can make 10 times your investment....

Congrats fellow '76er!

IMO 500 bucks was a great deal for you. I have had my 76 Overlander for one year now, and renovating it has been my greatest hobby / labor of love. Have fun!

Good deal! Worst case scenario you can use it as an aluminum shed.

I picked up my 77 Sovereign for $800. It looks in similar condition to yours, only my interior was mostly gutted. It had a 2 year old AC unit, newer Iota Converter, water pump and usable water heater, all DC and AC functional. 3 years later (not working on it on a regular basis)... and around $4500 in total spent It is almost a functional rolling aluminum tent.

For $500 it is worth it, if you have the time and money to bring it back to life.

Good luck on your new addiction.

Nice !

1970 is a great year for airstream.

Last year for real wood interior plus the modern body w/o the '69 only front windows etc.
