30ft mid life crisis

We have done the only responsible thing when you have two kids in university--sell the house, quit the jobs and hit the road in a 2017 International Serenity.

I have been following the forum for a few weeks, and I'm as excited to be a new member as I am to be an owner.

We're looking forward to learning from everyone's experiences, and meeting some of you fine folks on the road.

Doug

dooleyfan,

Welcome to the forums, Airstreaming and a whole new set of "responsible" decisions. The first decision should be to enjoy... maybe, park at the parking meters in front of one of your kid's dorm and have them do your laundry?

Have fun,

Roy and Marie

Very wise decision, it may keep them motivated to study harder since there is no longer the parents basement to crash in while they "find" themselves. : )

Buy used and take it slow. No sense in jumping in with both feet.

We would have bought used, but time was of the essence and there wasn't a good supply of used trailers where we are.

We picked ours up ten days ago, took it out for an 8 days shake down cruise. Issues were minor. I did not opt for the auto awning, too many nightmare stories on the road, besides, I learned on my prior 30 ' an easy sequence. My wife choose the salsa leather interior, I thought it might be a bit much but she tied it in with her own accents--happy wife , you know the rest. So far, no buyers remorse. Wishing you many travel memories and adventures. See you down the road.

Thanks Luigi, safe travels to you too. We went with the salsa also, and the running gag ever since has been it's not RED, it's SALSA. Also agreed on the auto awning, a little cranking never hurt anyone.

Hi

Sounds like a terrific plan - congratulations !!

Just remember - north in the summer, south in the winter. All the rest is optional.
