30' w/slide

My husband & I have been 'Streaming since 1989. We started with a 1970 29' Classic and now have a 2001 (70th Anniversary) 30' Classic with Slide. We live at Cherokee Land Yacht Harbor in far eastern Okla.

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us. What's your style of camping, and what are you towing with? Those SO's have a sustantial tongue weight.

That trailer was the first wide body Airstream I had been in. We saw it at the RV show. Patty and I both had fallen in love with it and at the time it was selling for $60K.....much more than I could afford. I think I remember saying to her if I'd ever spend that much it would have a motor in it. Fast forward we found the Safari line and ordered a new 2001. Then we get to the present and we got our slide out in November 2003. Needless to say our 2004 wasn't priced at 60K.

If I remember right Airstream did some kind of retrofit on the early slideout to address some type of water leakage problem. I was up at Jackson Center where a slide out unit was being worked on. The owner said that Airstream had made some changes in the gaskets on the new ones and his was having that change made. I'm not sure if it was a recall or whether he was having it done under warranty. You might want to check this out.

Welcome to the forums and and know there are a few of us slide out folks in the crowd.

Regards,

Jack
