2008 20' Safari SE

We picked up our 2008 20' Safari SE at the dealer yesterday afternoon. We planned on spending the night at O'Neill Regional Park in Trabuco Canyon in Orange County, California but they cancelled our reservations due to the fires. Instead we dry camped outside my office building for the night before taking it to the RV storage facility late this afternoon.

My wife, Karen, and I both work full-time and have a 9 year old son. We are new to RVing and were looking for something for quick weekend getaways in Southern California and we are excited about purchasing an Airstream.

We look forward to meeting fellow Airstreamers through the forums and on the road.

Congrats Jeff, The new Safari is beautiful!! Nice choice. Love the TV too. What a hot looking combination!! You and your family will have tons of fun on those weekends. You made a great choice in camping to have family fun and a better choice with an Airstream. Good luck and welcome to the forums

Congrats on your new 20' and welcome to the Airforums! Nice looking unit! Good that you opted to not go to a camp ground last weekend...I'm sure it was not a good time for those camping in the area, wondering if the fires would get to them... But glad you got a chance to stay in it nonetheless...

Glad you could join in!

Nice!

Beautiful trailer and TV combo, Jeff. Welcome to the forums!. There are lots of places in SoCal to camp. Check out Reserve America for state park reservations... Campgrounds and Camping Reservations - ReserveAmerica Your rig is small enough that you will have lots of options for camping. Have fun!

Hery, that's my rig! Well our ML500 is a different color and I added Reese dual cam sway just to play it safe. But it's a great combination. My wife went from NY to MT and back without a worry.
Enjoy!

Welcome to the Forums.

Very nice setup you have there.

Check out the California Streamers. They go camping about every month all over Ca. and AZ. It's a Forums Rally group and everyone is always invited.

Thanks for all of your comments!

We booked a November weekend at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, CA and another at San Clemente State Beach using ReserveAmerica.

We went with an Equal-i-zer Sway Control Hitch for added stability, so we should be "good to go."

Hi Jeff and Karen, That is a very good looking outfit! The first day and you've already experienced Urbin Boondocking. One camps where one can. LJH

You have a nice looking trailer. My wife and I bought a 22foot last year. We thought we would be happy if we used it 12 nights a year. We are now at 80 nights in 1-1/2 years and we have to put it away for the winter.Enjoy it!

Wow Brad. That's doing good for the mid-west. Putting it away for the winter is one of the saddest days.
