Hi,
This is my first A/S to renovate, I fixed up an Allegro motorhome before. Just got it the other day and started going through from front to back. Lots of things to fix!
I am currently trying to get the fresh water tank to drain. there is a valve seems to be working but nothing is coming out. any suggestions?
Thanks, I have tried the compressed air in the open end of the drain pipe with the valve open, I can hear some gurgling , but when I remove the air, no water. I noticed that I am not the only one to have this question, there must be a better way than running the pump to drain the tank.
The drain valve is so small that it only takes a small piece of crud to block it. The first thing I do in a renovation (besides tearing things out) is to put a 1/2" drain valve in the feed line. This doesn't totally allow you to drain the tank (they are so flat, you have to park sideways on an incline), but it does get more water out than you can pump out (pump stops working when the top of the feed line is exposed, but it will keep draining until the water is below the bottom edge of the feed line).
I'd keep blowing air, on and off, util you get the crud to move away from the valve.
