1972 Tradewind remodel

Hi all

We picked up a 1972 Land Yacht Tradewind at the end of May and took our first camping trip the end of July after a 7 week remodel.

I uploaded pictures of our progress to the photo gallery.

We gutted the inside and only keep the fridge and the AC unit, everything else was torn out and replaced with new.

We still have more to do.

finish the bathroom
polish the outside
fix the underbelly in the back ( installed new grey and black water tanks )
and lots of other little things

This forum has been and invaluable source of information, and made me spend a lot more money than anticipated.

For example, the tires that were on the AS when we bought it were really old and cracking. We were able to tow it home and even used those tires on our first camping trip but I knew I needed to replace them. After some research on the forums I concluded that I needed to upgrade my 15 inch tires to new 16 inch Michelin which also meant new 16 inch rims. But they really improve the overall look of the AS.

We will also be using our AS for my niece's upcoming wedding, we will also be photographing it. ( My wife and I are photographers ) I will be posting some pictures after the wedding.

You have certainly brightened up the interior. Great job!

That looks great, the colors really brighten it up.

I'll add this to my idea's list for my Safari renovation.
