1972 27' Overlander Land Yacht

Greetings!
We are the proud new owners of this 1972 Overlander. We were originally looking for a project AS, but then came across this one on eBay that had already been refurbished by the previous owner. And we're realizing that with 2 month old twins, it wasn't realistic to try to take on that kind of project right now.

So we took her out for our maiden voyage this past weekend and had a great time. It was a beautiful fall weekend here in SD, and I'm hoping we can squeeze in one more trip before the snow flies!

Pam & Brad

Welcome! Congratulations on your new-to-you Overlander. Great that you found an Airstream that you could use right away and get those kids out camping!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

wannaroam - your Airstream is out there, and I am looking forward to seeing pictures of it when you find it!

Mel - loved your pictures! Do you pull an Airstream with that 5-window red chevy pickup? The boys loved their first camping trip, and we're looking forward to lots of fun family outings in the Airstream.

Bob - no owners manual, but we did get a 1973 Service Manual which has been immensely helpful. I'm watching the weather for a frost warning, we're hoping to get in one more trip before we winterize.

Here's a few interior shots:

Wow - what a beautiful interior!!

Unfortunately, I can't claim that tow vehicle as my own. A lot of the pictures in my gallery are from Tin Can Tourist rallies we have attended, so the Chevy pickup belongs to some other lucky person! We tow with either a '73 F250 or a '65 Suburban.

Good luck squeezing in at least one more camping trip this Fall!

Congrats Pam & Brad! It looks like a very nice coach. It is pleasantly surprising to note that the tambour cabinet doors have been replaced with solid wood doors. That, IMHO, is a very big plus. Very nice!

The same one but one year older

hi Pam & Brad,

Congratulations for your new toy, it's the same model as mine but mine is from 1971.
So i m a bit surprised with your interior... No oven and no wall between the kitchen and the bedroom . all is made of wood so i think that the prior owner has made lot of work inside;

I've posted a thread about interiors, if you wanted to see : http://www.airforums.com/forum...ior-25536.html

Or you can see directly our Airstreams differences on my blog: my Airstream interior pictures are there:

thank you to have post pictures , it's always very interesting and instructive.

Bruno.

Wow! That really inspires me to update the interior in the Sovereign.

You did the right thing purchasing a "ready to camp" Airstream. Restoration is long and tedious, and if you count your hours involved, it is much more expensive.

Congratulations!
