1959 Tradewind 24ft

Hey Folks, Muskie here...
First time owner. Just bought a 1959. Needs work to convert into a music studio, mobile one!
Very excited, and will certainly be looking around this great site.
cheers

It looks like your Tradewind will be a good starting point for your project! Enjoy getting to know your 1959!

yes needs a mule

Yes, very excited. Oddly I bought the cart before the horse. I need a truck to tow it now. Open for suggestions.

Congrats! That one will shine up nicely!

If you plan to remove any items from it in your renovation, some of is would be interested in buying. (I'm looking for interior lights from around your vintage.). Private message me or post in the classifieds within this site if you're interested.

The VAP pod cast talked about towing and tow Vehicles 2 weeks ago. It was very informative. There is many many options out there. You have to decide what style of vehicle you want. Truck, SUV, cross over. Then look at the tow ratings of the vehicle and weights of your trailer.

The interior was pretty much stripped of all the gak. There is still a bathroom sink and toilet. I think I am using the toilet for a seat.
Yes I am researching the art of shine.

Awesome trailer and future studio! Can we please see some interior pictures? Although there is a ton of work in your future it will be very rewarding. Enjoy and again welcome!

here are some interior shots.
There is some damp on the bow's original floor, but a 'new' floor was put down by the moose hunters that owned it. I think I will re-do the floor and check the frame while I am at it. The wiring is still intact, just need to re-connect things, or re-wire under floor. Put some new insulation under floor and then do some custom work for the studio's gear. The shower hose and handle will make a perfect microphone stand-cable, and the toilet will be a new seat for the guitar player[s]. The hot water tank under the bed....?

Any ideas and airstream wisdom always welcome.

Always glad to see another 59 Tradewind join the ranks. Make sure it gets added to Flyfshr's registry of early Tradewinds.

Congrats on acquiring a new to you Early TradeWind. These are the perfect size for traveling and/or restoration work. Not too small, not too big - just right. I have been collecting data for an Early TradeWind Registry and would love to add your info. Cam you provide the serial number of unit? I see it had a booth in the front and has twin beds.
Thanks so much.

Muskie,

Good to see work start on another '59. Very good year.

Here is a link to the major renovations. Hopefully it will help you with some very good starting points.

How's the floor?

John
