Hello Mr. and Mrs. Cannon. Remember, your not camping when your traveling in your Airstream, your streamin'. I live in Crestview, FL and belong to WBCCI unit 29 in Pensacola, FL. Like some other units, ours owns its own campground. There are Airstream parks all around the country you can stay at while your traveling. You can check out the website of ours, Mystic Springs, if you like, it's index We used to live in L.A., would like to come out to CA again, but will have to wait until I can afford to take a few weeks off even though it's it's just on the other end of I-10!

Hi:
If I ever have time I will post pictures of our little "Welshly" as we call it.
We are trying to get it ready for the Notreallyrally in San Cemente CA.
Are you attending? OUr wood is a lite maple color and has some damage on the bottom by the floor, almost like it was in water . We are trying to work with the original, but it is pretty bad in spots.
Hope your New Year's rally was fun.
Maybe next year we can attend.

You will find at the rally or any gathering of 'streamers that there are a lot of folks who can provide advice on repairing issues you have found. Many times there are tricks that have been learned either directly or from others that can cut time, costs, and frustration down noticeably. I have learned a lot of shortcuts here that had I known about prior to tearing into my own vintage trailer I'd of shaved a lot of time off my build out.
Have you found that elusive TV (tow vehicle) yet? It is sure a treat to tow one's Airstream with a vintage vehicle as a large number of folks on this forum do.
Hope to see you out in some campground some time........

Thanks Barry.
We are at a stall right now with some of the restorations, but still moving ahead. We want a vintage TV (tow vehicle) as you suggest, but are still looking. I like wagons, Chris is not sold on that yet. We are always looking for a deal if you hear of one. We are attending the Rally at San Clemente in Feb. Are you planning a visit?
Thanks again.

You are invited - Women's Western Region Rally
Hi Kim -
Thought I'd jump in here with a welcome and a congratulations on your new airstream. She sounds like a beauty.
I also wanted to invite you to the women's rally in March at Lake Casitas campgroun in Ojai. It's our second annual gathering - a real hoot. Here's the thread to check it out.

Oh, and I love that you and your husband have old cars too. We love our '67 Airstream and our '68 T-bird. Maybe someday we'll be able to tow our 'stream with the Bird!
Cheers,

Hi Meredith:
Thanks for the invite, but I don't think I will be towing the "Welshly" solo any time soon. I can't ride a bike without running into somthing.
We love old cars, I use to have a 1955 T-bird before Chris and I married.
Now we have a 67 Vet (well it is Chris's baby) The next classic is my choice.
I thave a cute picture of our vet hooked up to the Airstream, it was our Christmas card this year. But the vet rides too low to tow anything. So we are still looking for our vintage tow car.
Will you be attending the San Clemente rally?
Thanks for the welcome.

Kim,
We won't be able to make the San Clemente rally unfortunately. For now we are trapped in the Province of BC due to a health issue but will expand our travel as soon as we are able.
As you can see by my avatar I use a '57 Pontiac wagon, the twin to the Chev Nomad. It makes an outstanding TV and suits our '51 Flying Cloud perfectly. I am a fan of vintage wagon TV's because they have sufficient weight and wheel base to handle a trailer. My buddy tows his trailers (he's now added the twin to my trailer) with a '54 Ford wagon. Both of us have upgraded the front brakes to disc, and better shocks all around.
We have had several corvettes over the years, all either first or third series. Would like to acquire a 63 but I'm currently up past my eyebrows with my '70 SS Chevelle for my wife. She intends to us it to tow the trailer from time to time but the wagon will continue to be the primary TV.
I will let you know if I hear of any TV's that might work. I see them from time to time on Craig's list. Recently there was a mid 60's Chrysler wagon with a 440 that was reasonable mileage, looked very good in the pictures, and was quite well priced. It was there for several weeks before it sold.

Hi ! and thanks for the welcome.
You are neighbors, and we shop at that Traders all the time. We are very excited about our first time rally, and also a bit scared about what to expect.
I love your picture of the frenchy is it yours? My daughter has one and I baby sit for it all the time, we also to go the frenchy club meetings at Laguna Beach dog park. My Grandpup is "Bonsi" and is black and white too.
Any way thanks for the note.
Kim
