Welcome to the forums and 50's Airstreams, Curt.

For suggestions, I'd just make sure your floor and frame are solid before doing a lot of other stuff. I'm sure there must be some 50's trailers out there with good original floors, but I think most of us have put in at least parts of new subfloors.

Get some pics up for us!

cheers,
steve

Well, have a good breakfast before you get started. I can't offer much more than that, but I wanted to say hi and wish you luck.
Smiles,
Pink

Hope it has a manual that goes with it...that would be a great help...if you don't ---people on here have manuals or access to them. Good luck with your project! And welcome!

No manuals for 57's. Not much help, many inconsistencies. However, it is a wonderful trailer, just needs some patience probably.
Do drop some belly pan, and check the floor perimeter carefully inch for inch for rot/decay. No sense in doing anything else if the subfloor and frame have rot or rust. So, do some exploratory surgery, expose the frame rails and cross members in places, and take a look at what you have to work with first. Be objective....
Did you know that despite of what others say, Overlanders ROCK?
