Al,

I'll try to find and read later but really didn't expect that level of even weight distribution.

Gary.

I went back and checked my weight slip. I was mistaken. The CS front tire was 100# lighter than the other three. Still pretty good balance. This was observable on my TPMS. Starting with all four tires at the same pressure, the CS front increased a pound or two less than the others at speed.

Thanks for the number 82. We are at AZ unit rally at Kartchner Caverns and besides our slide there happens to be 2 other 30ft slides. I'll get this forum thing figured out so I can keep in touch. Do you have any (slide) items to purchase inorder to promote the society?

Shredder,

We're not quite that sophisticated yet. Might have some show and tell stuff or? At Alumaslider in September.

If your slider neighbors are not members just show them this thread or post theirs forum name and we can send a private message with link to thread.

Arizona, haven't explored out that way yet. Enjoy.

slider stuff

Hi Folks. Not a slider yet but hope to be sometime this year. I see that someone was looking for some 'slider stuff' to identify with the group. You may want to see the annual Canopener rally logo. It's a 34 slide in a great white sand setting, with a canopener stuck in it! I am sure if you contact that group they would allow you to alter it to use on your own shirts or whatever you would like. It may be worth a try. Hope to join you soon!!! Pete

We leave tomorrow (Tuesday) back to Apache Junction (AJ). Yes a bit cool, 26 at 7:00 when I crawled out of bed. Ya we had (3) here over the weekend. Ask at the desk which tour Rocky is guiding or at least try to meet him and is wife Chris. His tour is fantastic. Their not Streamers but we know them from Oregon. They have stayed at our rv park

Or maybe we make this a campfire discussion at Alumaslider and see what visionary powers the hardwood smoke reveals to us.

And don't forget to pass around a jar of truth serum...just don't get too close to the fire with it.

Truth serum or artistic tonic? Either one might make my art look better.

Traded in our 2009 30 Classic with Slide

On Friday, February 9, 2018, we traded in our 2009 Classic 30 with Slide for a 2018 Classic 33. We will miss all the sliders here. Happy trails.

Brings up a question, if a registered Slider changes ownership, does their number go with the S/O? Could get confusing with the total numbers of sliders.

Sorry to see you sell but now a 2018 33, oh boy. Enjoy and learn the new stuff.

Maybe we'll hear from a new slide owner soon.

Pappy,

We had someone else sell and we reused the number for a new member.

Time for some recruiting, that slide is in GA and good chance it'l show up soon.

Welcome Aboard!

Welcome to the forums and especially to the Slide-Out Society. You'll find lot's of resources for information and tips. Pretty exciting to be an AirStream Owner and then there's the extra mystery of the Slide-Out. you'll get lot's of questions about it.

We're newish owners ourselves, just purchasing a used unit in Aug 2016. It's been a really fun adventure! We did our first rally this past Oct at AlumaLina. It was great fun and we met lot's of great people.

The Slide-Out Society is having a get together (AlumaSlider) this Sept 21-23 at Stone Mountain State Park in NC. Please consider joining us at the event. You can get more details on this thread: <http://www.airforums.com/forums/f288/alumaslider-slide-out-society-get-together-2018-a-171620-5.html#post2054353>

Gary our Grand Pubaah will chime in soon and award that exclusive S/OS #. I think we've got an opening at S/OS #28 as that owner traded his unit.

All the best!

Wayne & Amy,

Greetings from SC and welcome to the Slide Out Society.

Pretty sure our SO/S Data Officer (how’s that for a title Tom, Wendy gonna be impressed) got the number right so SO/S #028 is all yours.

I peaked at your profile is that an 04 Dodge 6 speed you tow with? If so that’s a hoot mine is an 05 2500 6 speed. I’m a clutch guy. No really it’s true.

What year is your slide?

Now let’s see you get in to our inaugural Alumaslider rally.

Gary,
My Airstream slide and D3500 truck are 2004 models.

I stole the truck (Good fireside story- a bit long). I was specifically looking for a 2004-2007.5 Dodge Cummins with six speed. I really wanted 3:55 or 3:73 gears, but when you are looking for a deal, you take the 4:10s with a simile. Found this one in New Mexico. 215Kmiles. Owner has just put new 2007 3 stage injector engine, new 1500HP Valair Street dual disk clutch and new 6 speed, and was needing money. Bad. I couldn't arrange getting off work and drive there with trailer to haul it back, and lost the deal. But I saved every picture, and every note and the serial number. Lo, and behold, four months later, found the truck I wanted, at super price, in Nashville TN, and made arrangements to look at it and strike a deal. Small Dealer, had bought the truck (at a steal), gave new paint job, cleaned and detailed, and I commence dealing. Then I checked and compared serial numbers. Eureka! Dealer didn't know about the engine, or tranny, so I ranted on the mileage, now 223K. at the end of the talk, I was ready to break his arm (silently), and hand him the cash. Did, and did, a performed down under and all over maintenance check. No leaks or weaps. Bad news, is, I made it to the VA border, and tranny felt tight. Pulled into Loves Truck stop, and left it ultimately. and hauled it the next day with my medium farm truck and super heavy tilt trailer. I installed the new tranny it needed myself and upgraded joints on 4x4 units. Still rockin a good deal.
So here I sit with new engine, new 6 speed, new clutch, revised drivelines. So popped on a set of new Michelins and waxed the black paint.
Mating this beast to the tiny Airstream, merits mileage in the high teens.
Wayne & Amy,
Happy Campers
