I experienced the door issue a couple times during the first few outings with my trailer over ten years ago. Thereafter, I stuck to the following sequence which stopped the issue except for a handful of times when the soil got drenched during the stay and compressed.

I start by dropping the forward street side stabilizer closest to the slide and work my way around until I reach the forward curb side. I almost always use a 8"x8"x3/4" board under the pads and turn the crank just a fraction less than 1/4 turn after contact. The larger contact pad seems to have helped with loamy field compression issues.

Thanks for the feedback. My door is as tight as a mouse's ear! The part that bugs me is that there is no rhyme nor reason to it! I think that I will look closer the next time out and play with the stab adjustments a bit more. I have the electric versions so maybe I need to get faster on the trigger when I set them down. This is going to need some deep thought and a lot of beer!
Thanks to all
Pete

Stabilizer Wired Remote Control

I'm considering doing this. Actually I am within $60 of being committed to do this.

It hurts my back and quads to bend over long enough to run the stabilizer jacks up and down every time I make or break camp. I have designed an add on consisting of two sets of a relay box with two relays and a single plug-in switch box with two switches. The idea is you would take the switch box to the rear stabilizer jack panel, plug it in to the added relay box and while standing use the two switches to run the roadside and curbside jacks up or down as required, unplug, move to the front and repeat.

So I'm wondering if this is something that folks with electric stabilizer jacks (like Slideouts, for sure) would be interested in. I'm ordering 9 boards, due to the minimum buy from the PCB house. I will build mine and test them and if successful I will have 7 boards left over. It takes one relay for each motor, i.e. 4 per trailer and they run about $6 each. If the interest is overwhelming (doubtful) I can order more boards.

Each user would buy their own housings, switches, relays, and PCBs, build up their relay boxes and switch box and connect the relay boxes into the jack control panel. Each relay box would connect to power, ground and the two motors for a total of 6 wires.

An upgrade I'm considering is to add on key fob remote control to eliminate the need for the switch box and waterproof connectors on the relay boxes.

PM me if this is something you would be interested in doing.

Understand the issue and Iíve thought about separating the switches and moving switch for curb jack from street side to curb side.

Never thought of a remote like youíre proposing.

Iíll be curiously watching.

Speaking of the jacks, I got tired of bending down on my knees to position the blocks/pads under the jacks, and retrieving them. So I bought a junker golf iron for $5 and have been using it for years. It maneuvers the pads exactly where I want, and makes it easy to drag them out as well. In a pinch, it could be a weapon too.

This is Ande Rushing...Kipziprip. Our slider number is #96. Please add my wife "Lynn" as a member. Also she sent you a message a day or so ago about chances of getting a site with electricity for the next slider get together. If you hear of one please advise. If one does not come available by next week we will just sign up and bring a generator.

Thanks,
ande
