AS and VWís

GCinSC2, I must be in the doghouse with regards to this scenario. We own two 56 ragtops, one 60 bug, a 64 sunroof Notchback and weíre looking for an early Squareback. I took the AS out for itís maiden voyage a week ago. Towed wonderfully and everything involved with the trailer worked great. Iíd post a couple pictures, but Iím not sure how to do so on this site. Definitely not a computer type person.

Yeah but youíre fleet ainít got radiators. My Bug was bought for commuting a tough 1.9L TDI manual that just rolled 420K this am. Radiator, AC, intercooler and more. But it ainít those air cooled chirpers like real VeeDubs are.

And itís that ugly yellow and shows matching road scars.

Current clutch has over 200K on it.

Newbies all around

We just bought our first slide-out. Itís a 2004 Safari 28. Itís also our first Airstream and our first RV! Our first night on the road we stayed at our first Rally in Biglerville, PA. We love it! We are hooked! (hitched?)

Hi Ed. We met you at the rally in Pa. Glad you made it home safe and sound. We sat with you at breakfast on Friday morning ( I think). The rally was nice and we left late morning on Sunday and had a good trip home to New Jersey.

Good luck with your new AS and enjoy the extra room the slide out gives. Wish we had one with a slide.

See ya on the road sometime,

Welcome to the forum's! I saw your post to the intro thread...what a great adventure you started working across the country. I'd have a hard time leaving the trailer somewhere else.

I saw that Gary S/OS #001 found you too! I'll say welcome aboard the Slide-Out Society...great rig you've found there.

All the best!

Big Daddy is about whooped!

Big Daddy and Nonna have our grandkids camping this week in Cherokee, NC. We are not accustomed to extra company in the Stream. The slide makes it possible! That extra room makes a nice difference.
Having a blast just wanted to say hello to all you sliders out there! Having a ball.....Don & Betsy

Slide-Out Society - Updated Member List

I haven't posted an updated member list in awhile and with the latest Sliding in of dart101 it's probably a good time for it.

I'm gonna jump protocol and put it out so our Grand Slider Gary S/OS #001 can confirm our latest addition.

Humbly yours...

Man oh man I'm slipping took me almost 24hr to catch up with Phillip and Data Officer Tom.

Phillip greetings and such from kinda steamy SC and D.O. Tom got it right but he keeps the books anyway.

Phillip you're S/OS#0107

Enjoy the slide and travel safe. Good looking combo rig BTW I'm partial to those compression ignition big inline 6 cylinder power plants.

help with my slider set up!

Hi Folks
I need some help setting up my 08 34 slider. I make sure that we are level, fore, aft and side to side. I then add a little pressure from my stabs then.... extend my slide. In about 50% of the time we are good to go. The other 50% is my problem. My door doesn't line up properly. It drives me nuts! I have heard about putting blocks under one axle but this helps "sometimes"! Please if you have some actual experience with this..... please let me know the secret.
Thanks in advance.
Pete

Pete

Have you tried no stabilizer test door then a tiny bit of stabilizer test door and see if it changes and then the watch this with the stabilizer get the video going and try door again.

Iíve put too much force on stabilizer and the porridge was too hot not hot enough and it was a mess but finding the sweet hot spot and it was just right.

How are the hinge pins doing? Door snug and smooth or loose and sloppy?

Gary
