30' Classic Slideout for sale

I just found your Airstream Slide-out group AFTER I bought a new 30' Classic with all the latest technology. I still have the 2007 30' Classic Slide-out so it is for sale. I have posted the trailer on another site but not yet posted it to this group or on the AirstreamClassifieds site (having trouble with authentications but that finally is cleared up). Is it appropriate to post it to this group? This is the most likely place to find SlideOut owners or those who will want them. BTW, I have never had any problem whatsoever with the slideout, so for anyone worried about their reliability, I can testify to their heavy duty quality construction. Just not what we wanted for our next phase of Streaming. The new one is our third AS.

BTW, I am trying to post this within the thread or group but not as a reply to someone else's post. I am afraid I am just learning how to use this technology.

Sorry forum requires using the classified ad section.

There is an Airstream Slide Out group on Facebook that you could post it. Best place is the classifieds as Gary stated.
Good luck in selling it. They seem to go fast!

I'm in the market for a slide out, preferably a 28' model. If anyone here is looking to sell, please send me a message.

We have a 26' Avion but are looking to move to a slideout for the extra room.

Zackro, place a wanted ad in the Classified section. Not here.

Zackro. I sent you a message. Know of one for sale here in Georgia. It’s not listed online anywhere. Happy hunting.

Be prepared to move fast. An Alabama 28' Safari was listed a week ago on the classifieds and sold same day! I'd jump on Don's lead as quickly as you can.

Nev-R-Lube Bearing Repairs

Gary S/OS #001 just posted a thread on Nev-R-Lube Bearing Repairs. He's broken it down to removal of a bad bearing and installation of a good one...including photo's and a tool list!

https://www.airforums.com/forums/f465/dexter-nev-r-lube-bearing-r-and-r-224416.html

Our S/O trailer is equipped with E/H Disc brakes and Nev-R-Lube bearings. For us DIY folks it gives you a clear picture of what to do and how to go about it. I thought this might be helpful to others here on the Slider Thread.

Best!

We just returned from a 1200 mile round trip to Arkansas. We picked up a 2002 71st edition 34’ dinette slide. Having owned our 1970 31’ airstream for 20 years, the 34 slide feels like twice the trailer! She was parked under cover for the last 12 years. The owner never once towed it.

We are super happy with our new trailer and excited for at least 20 years with this one. Add us to the list please.

Cale and Amy,

Greetings from The Palmetto State to The Prairie State and the Land of Lincoln. Sorry I didn't see this earlier but here it is. Looks like you're experienced but the only gotcha with a slide that is generally supported is level, stabilize and then Slide Out!

Make sure to shout out if a now what pops up but get it ready for the next Slide Out adventure. Pic's always welcome and thanks for joining oh yeah thump thump Cale and Amy your officially S/OS #120

At Alumalina this fall the charter members of Slide Out Society met and the S/OS was founded.

Charter members:

GCinSC2 Gary & Linda, S/OS #001
Don Connolly S/OS #002
SeeMore Dave & Susan S/OS #003

Don picked up a garaged gem of a rig this year, easy to spot with its smoked plexiglas (?) rock guards.
SeeMore has two Great Danes that, well ya just gotta see that pair of well behaved ponies.

Membership requirements, simple, own an Airstream Slide Out Trailer.
Sign up and keep the numbering consecutive and post your S/OS number in your signature and a pic is always welcome.

Yes, my Airstream does have a slide out.

Hey Gary! How do I sign up? We just purchased a 2009 Classic Slide Out 34ft. Thanks!

Daiseymae80,

Well, it's quite a process. General application, 34' sub species specific regulations charter, background check, application fee, 1st months membership fee in advance of course.

Yeah, got it all and the letter carrier promised they'd bring the 2nd month membership fee tomorrow.

All set, Daiseymae80 the drum roll and you are S/OS#121 it's a big deal!

Please let us/Airforums know if you're seasoned RV'er or just dipping your feet into this strange aluminum outdoor world etc. And make sure you post any questions with a bit of detail and background info and good chance somebody might have the answer, bluff, SWAG or just shrug their shoulders.

As a starter with these models it's level L-R --> chock -->level front to back --> stabilizers down just to support not lift --> check for slide clearance to objects -->then SLIDE OUT

And pretty darn sure you have disc brakes, right? Those bad boys are strong. If you have any questions about them bring 'em here. They saw rather limited use so more folks know the electric drum brakes but haven't been hands on with these 4 pistons race car cast iron monsters.

Safe travels,

Gary

Slide-Out Society - S/OS - Member Update

Congratulations Daiseymae80 with S/OS #121!

2009 Classic 34' S/O

Out of the last six new members...four have been 34's, and two of those are 2009's. According to what AirStream sent me on production figures there were only 6 - 34' Classic's built for 2009.

Daiseymae80 that gives you bragging rights to owning 1 of 6 built for 2009. Welcome to our little group of Sliders!

Enjoy many adventures with your new rig!

I've updated our member lists so everyone can see where we're at! Had to also do a little expansion of the list...now we've got room for 140 Sliders.

Happy Holidays to everyone!

Hello Gary! You got me on the long process, that I got a little panicky! Lol well, I’m so happy I didn’t have to jump through all the hoops to be a part of this group! Whew!
My name is Terri and my husband’s name is Tom. I think we already know you? Tom and I have had our 26U for 3 years so he’s not a novice to airstreaming. However, brand new to the disc brakes. The hitch we put on was soooo loud while moving slow that we swore it was the brakes making the excruciating noise. OMG, were we wrong! Drove hundreds of miles back to the dealership to check the brakes and felt foolish to find out it was only the hitch. Oh well, you live and learn! Sure wished we were in this Society before that happened. But now we’re in at #121! Woo hoo! Thanks so much for welcoming us!

Hey Tom, thanks so much for letting me know where we stand as one of only six 2009 34ft airstreams. Wow! We had no idea! We love our dinette Slide-out and grateful it came up for sale on Facebook one morning in October. We’ve only camped in it once in Tennessee then had to hurry home to Maryland for Thanksgiving. It’s now parked for the winter. We can’t wait to get out on the road again! Thanks again for your wonderful welcoming and the lists of all the slide outs! We are excited to be a part of this group and to have such a unique trailer!

S/OS Folks, we DO KNOW Terrie and Tom, maybe almost too well. We have a "history" with them.

I should have enforced the application process we could have weeded them out.

Anyway what's done is done, can't un-ring a bell they say.

Last time we camped with Terrie and Tom IIRC was May 2019 at VAHH. That included a road trip to sample some grape juice and some mugging for the camera. Terrie and Tom is good folks and we wish them safe travels and happy trails with Bertha.

L-R Tom, their dog, Terrie, Linda my bride, Kirk and Maryann R-Go-See owners and your scribe is in the back row adding a decorative touch to Terrie's portrait.

Hahaha! So happy we made the cut before you realized it was us before you okayed our membership! Lol 😂
What great memories of meeting you, Linda, Kirk and Marianne for the second time back in 2019 at Highland Haven! Now we get to be in this unique Society with you both. Can’t wait to create more memories with you for 2022! Merry Christmas and Happy New Years!:
