2004 34í Limited S/O Dinette

chevy2man - Wow...beauty with that red awning! Quite the stable of AS you're building there. The S/O will be a great addition!

We've noticed there are a few S/O's available around the country...saw a 2002 in MD and a 2007 in FL just this past week. So yours makes another S/O beauty on the market.

Good luck with travel and pickup!

Thanks! Iím actually buying this one and going to sell my older 1995 Excella 34í. I noticed on my profile it shows a bunch of other Airstreams that I donít own. I tried to update but there must a glitch or something. I have a 1975 Argosy 20í MH(project) as well. Iíve always wanted a slide out so here I am.

Thermal fuse

2007 30í; arrived at campground and slide wouldnít extend. No sound at all when switch activated. The slide locks do work. Couldnít find the fuse block for slide. Called JC, located fuses under sofa near master power switch. Learned they are thermal fuses, which can be replaced only by disconnecting the entire fuse block and removing it. Has anyone ever replaced this arrangement with more conventional blade or barrel fuses?

loft47,

Do you have anything to test for power? Going into fuse and out. Rather that replacing might want to try troubleshooting the power supply.

12VDC testing can be done with a multimeter or even a simple light bulb tester. The light bulb setup is actually very handy for basic power distribution testing.

Keep updating on progress.

Don't forget there is a doable but awquard manual slide out, check manual for details.

I think the last failure to extend was a switch issue IIRC.

If your trailer has the same controller as mine it is mounted on the curbside wall under the sofa arm. The wiring connects with spade log terminals and are prone to come off. Check to make sure they are all attached. One of mine came off, touched another lug, and blew a resistor in the controller. It was part of a current sensing circuit that turned off the motor if too much current was drawn. I replaced it with a piece of wire, managed to figure out what it was and ordered some. I have yet to install one to replace the wire.

I said curbside; I meant roadside. To be clear, I am talking about a control module surface mounted on the wall, not the control switch.

loft47,

Any update? Your experience and hopefully simple solution is how the forum learns when we can't work on it.

An Alternative?

This link is to a product similar to what I found next to my control module. The performance parameters for the linked item are not a match, but the resettable fuse concept is valid. I have never had to reset the fuse on my unit in twelve plus years of regular use.

I suspect the first owner replaced the thermal fuse during the two years he owned my unit - maybe, right after the warranty ran out
