Raise the TV
I've always thought the Sony TV in my 2008 Classic 25fb was too low. The TV is held to the TV mount using 4 M4x25 bolts and washers. I noticed there were extra holes but they took larger bolts. I found they took M5x25 bolts. I found I could raise the TV several inches so it still cleared the window valance. This will provide a little more clearance if I decide to lounge against the fridge wall or if someone is sleeping there.
However, the issue arose when raising the TV on the back plate it obscured the HDMI port that I use to connect our iPad we store movies on.
The solution was a 90 deg HDMI adapter. This angles the HDMI cable 90 degrees and using this adapter I was able to successfully complete this project. I got the adapter from monoprice.com.
Here are some photos showing before and after.
Thanks
