mismatched -2006 Classic

I've noticed that the showers in the 2007 models are posted on alot of dealer sites. The fixtures match (water control, shower head and towel rack.) My 2006 has a chrome water control, gold plastic shower head, and brass towel rack. Were all of the 2006 mismatched or is this just my unit?

it may take a while to read these but they do give much insight into issues with each model year...

for 07 the hardward was changed completely, so they were finally able to have all most everything match..on the classic models

most models have mostly chrome, stainless and silver colored bits...

the mismatch was on limited models from past years...gold and brass and chrome...

door pulls, drawers, water fixtures, shower frame and so on...are all a antique/distressed black over brass color now on the classics...at least for 07.

i like the door pulls and drawer handles...

the black shower frame is butt ugly and the water fixtures are just ok...

and how will they look over time and with wear?

i suspect the 08s or 09s will have another trim package...

I am very happy with my '06. I was very happy I got the stainless steel sinks in the galley,and the brass in the bathroom.The shower is the only flaw- It is all mismatched.The shower head is a cheap plastic that has no button to start/stop the water flow as is standard on most rv/tt. The '07 is spiffy to look at, but the new fixtures in the galley would do not go with SS sinks, fridge, and/or stove IMHO.

I can't answer your question whether the 2006 models were mismatched, but our 2004 Limited is mismatched, and we paid many thousands of dollars for this mismatch as part of the Limited upgrade, which Airstream fradulently advertised as being all brass. So, I suspect that your 2006 is one of many.

When I asked that our fixtures be changed to brass ones as advertised, Airstream management refused to do so. However, our cheap plastic shower head lost its "beautiful" brass finish after a few months, and they did replace it under warranty with another identical cheap plastic one.

Hi Flyfisher,
I guess I am not the only one that thought the bathroom would have all brass fixtures with the very expensive LTD upgrade package. It did not indicate brass fixtures for sink only. From your post I gather they will only match at my expense.

It doesn't hurt to ask them to abide by truth in advertising laws.

I asked Dave Schumann, and he took the omnipotent stand "take it or shove it". That's what I've heard from him several times in my past dealings with him.
