Question Holiday light hangers- 2006 Classic

Ok I am not refering to clothes hangars that have been bent to hang lights. I am refereing to light hangars that I can use to hang Christmas or Party lights. The ones I found at Wal-mart do not work. They slide into a channel I do not have. Where else I can I look to find something that will work? I just have to start decorating for the holidays!

Michelle, if you don't have the channel for the hooks, the next best thing I can think of would be a series of the plastic potatoe chip clips (not the wide ones) I have seen in Office depot. They are about an inch by an inch and a half, and are available in different brilliant colors. You can hold the wires up with the clips, and clip the clips to the fabric edge of the awning.

We had the same situation. We use little white plastic clips from the laundry tool ssection at Super Wal-Mart. They work great and don't rust.

Hi, I have thought about this quite a bit. I have not done this yet, but I plan on useing a tool / clamp. This tool is called a "Grid Clamp" and is used for suspended ceilings. It looks like a fairly stiff "U" shaped wire with rubber tips that lock together with a lever. I picked this Idea because of the way the awning is made without a useable channel; And because I believe these neat little clamps won't fall off or damage the awning material.

Camping World has metal lantern snaps(both ends) which I bet would be good, I bought the cheap plastic awning hooks and they break. The rv shop suggested Office Depot like chip bag clips only metal for papers, inexpensive and strong. We use the squeeze clips like a coated wire paper or bag clip. The clamps are a good idea since the extension cord can be heavy.

I just saw these clips at VTS , they are clear plastic and look like they would do the trick.

BTW, I was ordering my Christmas cards this morning, they have several Airstream cards to choose from....
