Front window stone guards 2006 Classic 30' S/O

Concerning the covers on the front windows: The two curved covers: Do these covers seal to the trailer or is there supposed to be space between the trailer and the covers. Mine have rubber seals which makes me think they should seal to the trailer: the ends do seal but the center is about one inch away from the coach. Do I have the correct covers?
Any information would be appreciated.

hi kleimanr
welcome to the forums
new classic.......we want pictures!

the rock guards seem to have declined in quality the last few years...
not as well assembled, fit/finish and so on....

i don't think they are designed to provide an air tight or water tight seal...
while driving, and in driving rain, they do a pretty good job...
as the air pressure compresses them onto the trailer...

parked they keep most of the dust off windows, but rain does get past mine.
using a water hose for washing, some gets past them too....

if you've never opened the front center protector and side protectors...try it!

the sides can be 'bent a little' to improve or make worse the seal...
and the gasket can be reshaped a little when cleaning it...

i occasionally open them, clean all surfaces and lightly lube the rubber seals with a siloxaine dampened rag.

now how about those photos! come on share!

I have a 2005 Classic and mine don't seal either. I have to open them to clean out leaves and stuff.
I thought this is just the way it was.

Even on my 1984 Airstream, the front side covers need to "open" and cleaned behind them once in awhile..It's no biggie..Just that the rubber gasket does hold the dirt and 'green' growth..Hose it down and, then wipe with paper towels..Like they said, the real protection comes while travel~!!
The gap issue is just that..there

I have the same situation--not a complete seal--on my 2002 Classic. Not only that but apparently the shields were covered with "butcher" paper for the trip to the dealer and I am left with pieces pulling out at the edges now and then.

On my 2006 22ccd, no seal. Just picked up 2007 International 25ss Ocean Breeze edition, same deal, no seal. Not a problem really.
