Status Panel
Camped out over the holidays (8 days!) and had a great time. Really felt like a vacation.
But...I had a problem with my status panel on the wall by the sink (I have a 19' Bambi Safari). When I turn it on, it cycles like it is trying the seek the status, then it just goes blank/dark. I turn it off and wait awhile. Then, when I try it again, it does the same thing.
Everything else works fine - the heater, water heater, lights, stove, refrigerator. Only the status panel shows this problem
I have also pumped the blank water and grey water tanks. I plan on putting some of the sensor cleaning chemicals in and see it that does any thing.
Otherwise, I will be making another trip to the dealer.
Anybody else have a problem like this?

Are you aware of these threads? http://www.airforums.com/forum...tml#post310829. Use 2air's links. The original mentioned silvertwinkie.org links are no longer good.
The MicroPulse system is evidently much better than the old styles that would work for a couple seasons, then never again. Sound like this is helpful? Puh-lease post back on the above linked thread and let us know if it worked after you recalibrated! Thanks.

On a 2006 it seems unlikely the sensors are gummed up, and that wouldn't explain why the battery doesn't register.
I'd punt to the dealer. Mine displayed clearly faulty readings and they replaced the whole display unit, problem went away.

Thanks!
Thanks to both of you for the tips. Someone else had mentioned their status panel went out and had to be replaced also.

Hi,
I also had to replace mine. You might want to give Steve at Catcon a call. He is the manufacturer. Very nice guy. Excellent customer service and he stands behind his products. His website is below. I suspect the panel is bad not the sensors.

I never understood why an old fashion style status panel is being used in the Airstreams.. a simple LCD panel with continuous display of all info is completely possible.. they could combine it with a clock and temperature indications aswel..

Recently our Black tank status on the monitor went South and would not register correctly. Not being the fastest kid in class, I called Catcon for help in how to recalibrate the unit. What I needed was the owners book and the scale interpretations, that shows the classifactions of the cycles, to get to the area I needed on the monitor. Followed the instructions and wham it worked. Black tank monitor fixed. By the way, on our unit if you look in the area of the Black tank valve handle and just behind the the rubber cover for the shaft, you can see the wires to the sensor. The wires lead to the right and the sensor in a short way from the handle. I think one would need to cut a small opening to access the sensor.
Best,

I also replaced mine 2x, but it was due to burned out LEDs. That link Bob posted is really the main thread...it has LOTS of great info. I agree, punt it to a good dealer or Airstream directly.
