We're BAAAAACK!! new project - '65 Overlander

Here's a partial update. I found a local rv shop that let me look in some boxes and found that a Valterra trailer deadbolt has the same stud locations and same size actuator. I was able to reuse the deadbolt mechanism as is with the lock cylinder from the new lock. Still trying to salvage the door knob. That's going to be another mess but at least it's secure now.




They have another in stock and I'm going to pick it up and convert the 63 thumb latch travel lock to a deadbolt I think.

Back to work again. Colder weather is coming so started getting serious about weatherproofing. New stove vent painted and installed and the first sewer vent cleaned and resealed. Tomorrow I hope to do the same on the fridge vent and the other two sewer vents. Also finished shrinking down an access door to fit the opening I have. Then we can finally start cleaning out the mess!

Well I miss that extra hour of daylight in the evening after work for sure. I did manage to take apart, trim down and rebuild a compartment door and get it installed. Still need the short section of rub rail behind the wheels but the big hole is finally closed up. Hope to get the other project knocked out tomorrow.

Three hours of scrubbing and vacuuming up broken glass and who knows what it's feeling less repulsive inside. Solid floor everywhere so far, even against the walls behind stuff (even the rear compartment). Even has a perfect original folding shower curtain! Need to find two drawer face donors for the Goucho and door above the oven but otherwise only minor cabinet repairs needed. Going to be on the lookout for some table leaves too
